Sears — FM11 Queens Park August Results: Amazing Spiders 12/13

Published on

Hey everyone, welcome back to my Queens Park story. Considering I’m back to school again following our short holiday’s, I won’t have as much time to play FM thus therefore I will be returning to a monthly update process. In the aftermath of our phenomenal promotion last season, I signed some good players despite our status remaining amateur. Obviously there’s better quality sides in this division thus meaning I don’t expect another extraordinary promotion. My aim is to establish us as a First Division team and go on another enjoyable cup run. You may recall we reached the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup last season. I was eagerly anticipating the beginning of the season and here’s how we began life in the Scottish First Division.

Scottish Challenge Cup First Round Versus Dumbarton @ home 28/7/12

Our cup campaign began as we encountered Dumbarton in the Scottish Challenge Cup first round. Dumbarton still find themselves struggling down in the Third Division hence I expected a comfortable win, especially considering we have only lost to them once in five meetings. Here are the match highlights:

We deserve to progress to the next round, we were the much better team and I’m somewhat frustrated that we didn’t score a couple more goals. We defended superbly, and striker David scored an amazing solo effort!

Scottish League Cup First Round Versus Arbroath away 4/8/12

Our next game was another cup one. On this occasion, Arbroath were our opponents in the Scottish League Cup first round. I was expecting victory and here are the highlights:

We easily knocked them out by scoring four tremendous goals. The build up to the first goal really impressed me, we scored one from a well executed free kick and Mayulu’s last goal was a touch of brilliance.

Scottish First Division versus Dundee away 11/8/12

Our first game of the league was away to Dundee… There expected to finish top and the media gave my boys no chance whatsoever in this fixture. Prepared for a shock?I suggest you watch the highlights :-)

Ha, we tamed the league favorites as they squandered to a extremely unlikely defeat. We scored three goals, but created seven clear cut chances. We also restricted them to a just three shots which is magnificent considering their ability.

Scottish Challenge Cup Second Round Versus Cowdenbeath @ Home 14/8/12

Following our win against Dumbarton in the first round, we faced second division team Cowdenbeath in the second round. Here are the highlights:

In an action packed game, we scrapped through by winning 5-2. Were now in the third round and one step away from the semi final. Realistically, this may be the only trophy we could prevail in this season, therefore I’m hoping to win it.

Scottish First Division Versus Ross County @ Home 18/8/12

Another tough game was in store for us, this time we had to play Ross County, a team predicated to finish fourth. Here ate they match highlights:

OK, that was… Uninspiring. I really expected more from my team, shame we lost. Ah well..

Scottish First Division Versus Raith Away 25/8/12

Could we bounce back against Raith? See the highlights if you want to find out:

Brilliant, another defeat.  I’m getting increasingly worried about my forwards, three clear cut chances but just one goal? C’mon guys…

Scottish League Cup Second Round Versus St Mirren away 28/8/12

Following our two consecutive league defeats, we had to play Premier League side St Mirren in the League Cup Second round. I didn’t know what to expect as my team have been hugely unpredictable thus far. Let’s see if we could pull off a shock:

All in all, I was pleased with our overall performance. We did well, created some chances, defended reasonably well and managed to concede just twice. The Spiders live to fight another day.

Here’s the month in full:

Amazing start, abysmal finish. My defense has been rather poor in recent games, and so have my strikers which makes a excellent contribution towards our dismal few fixtures. The Spiders will bounce back though, I’m sure of that. I mean, we can’t keep losing… Can we?

The league table looks extremely encouraging at the moment. Somehow, were not even bottom. Amazing right? Hopefully we can finish above 8th position. That would be remarkable!

And our fixture list for September:

A tough schedule awaits us next month, optimistically we might secure a victory or two but I’m not pushing my luck yet. The game against Brechin will be massive. The winner may stay up, the loser may go down.

Well thanks for reading folks, and sorry for not writing about my games properly, I don’t see the point when I can show you the highlights instead. Feel free to comment or ask any questions, cheers.
