Real Union — Season 2021 Begins!

Published on

Hi everyone!

Here is my new post on my Real Union side. After the dissapointment of the champions league final I am twice as determined to win it. I also want to retain the la liga title, for the first time in our club’s history.

After looking at my squad, I am still very happy in all areas. However at the back I saw a little problem. With Krystov at 30, Leo at 33 and Vorsah sold (More in a moment!) I only really have Bisaku as a young central defender.

So I made that my prime target, a new centre half! But before that lets have a look at the players that have left this summer :

The Vorsah deal was a very good one for me, he wasnt really a first teamer and at 33 I got the same price as when I bought him, so lost no money.

However both Simon and Arrizabalaga are pomising talents again from my excellent youth acadamy and I will show them in detail soon!

First players in! :

Two new faces, so lets have a look at them :

Giorgos Linardos

Linardos signed from relegated Villarreal and he is a fantastic goal getter. The first Greek player to sign for the club, he brings alot of quality but will mostly be a back up to Kramaric and David. I have on three seperate occasions tried to get him and failed, but I always get my man! Am delighted to have him at Real Union at last.

Juan Pablo Mazza

My own carelessness cost me on this transfer as I could have got him on a free but I pulled out on the deal last year, due to his nationality and the non-EU problems it would cause. But I decided I wanted him but had to pay £11 million so a big mistake by me. However the player looks quality, he should devlop well at my club.

Mikel Arrizabalaga

A youth acadamy product that has been here since he was 16. I twice loaned him to Numancia were he played very well, but now have loaned him to Recreativo in la liga to see how well he copes. But has bags of potential, and is a central midfield player.

Ekaitz Simon

Came through at the same time as Arrizabalaga and has been courted by several big clubs including, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barca and AC Milan. A striker that reminds me very much of Mikel Pena who also came through the ranks at Real Union and is still scoring goals for the club now.

Mario Saenz

The brightest talent from this years inclusion into our acadamy see’s this giant youngster! At 6’6» he can and will hopefully become a good target man for the club and with alot of pace could be a handfull. I opted to keep him in the under 19’s but will probably loan him out to see how he gets on. Again have high hopes for this player.

So thats about it, we are aiming for the la liga title and another good run in the champions league, hopefully winning it in an ideal world!

As you can my transfer policy is that I hardly ever spend over £20+ million on players, even though I could. I like to buy outstanding young talent and nuture them in superstars rather than buying the latter. I also try to encourage young acadamy players into my squad.

I follow the Barcelona example, and try to bring as many home grown, youth acadamy products through as I can. On my current game we have one of the best acadamy’s in the world so we should take advantage of it!

Thanks for reading, and lets hope for some more trophies! :)
