Neal Maupay is half French, half Argentinian, and his talent seems to have been quite obvious right away. He started his career at a small French club called US Valbonne and then was signed by top-flight side Nice in 2007. At the age of 16 years and 32 days he was given his debut in Ligue 1, on 14 September 2012. He scored 3 goals for Nice in his debut season in the French top flight, definitely not bad for a 16-year old. Unfortunately he suffered a pretty bad injury, ruptured cruciate ligament, had to go through surgery and will probably be back on the pitch around October.

This Football Manager 2014 wonderkid was compared to his fellow Argentinians Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero, he surely has the technique and speed, but also to Wayne Rooney for his unusual strength for his young age. Probably most of the big clubs in Europe are keeping an eye on him but there were no reports of concrete offers so far. All we know is that Nice offered him a professional contract and that he signed it. His transfer value might be around 15 million pounds but it’s hard to say due to that injury.

Most probably that won’t be the case in FM 14, he will surely be available because his talent is difficult to ignore.
