Disclaimer: I am a Roma fan so prepare for a biased view! Seriously though, Calafiori is the flying wing back we all missed in FM20 and possess great potential. The 18 year old is very quick with excellent technique, control and passing range. To say the Italian looks forward more than behind is fair but with attributes like that why not?

In my test save he developed 16 and above for pace, acceleration, agility and balance, most Wingers would struggle to hit that. Add 14 crossing, dribbling, technique and vision for an assist machine. I put his assist record in my test save down to poor AI tactics because Riccardo even developed 15 flair, which is insane for a defender.

A flying wing back he may be, but Calafiori won’t let you down in defence with decent stats and great work rate. Coming in at £7.5 million he’s my must buy Defender no matter the save.
