The FM 2017 player profile of Joao Carvalho shows a very gifted young playmaker, capable of playing both as MC and AMC. Benfica are quite desperate to keep him at the start of the game, so they will react with a hefty 25-million asking price. That could become lower later on as the lad will most likely try to force his way out to a bigger club.

In my test save he enjoyed a couple of successful loan spells before Manchester United finally prized him away from Benfica. He had a fantastic first season at Old Trafford, providing 14 assists to go with 3 goals, while his second season in England wasn’t bad either.

His technical attributes developed extremely well, he became an ace when it comes to passing the ball and also became a master of the one-twos. His creativity and other mental attributes are excellent as well, making him the perfect candidate for a playmaker role.
