This FM 2013 player profile of Ben Davies shows a very promising young left back, probably one of the best Welsh youngsters in the game. At the age of 19 he already has good mental attributes, nice speed and good crossing and tackling but the asking price can be a bit of a drawback, Swansea want no less than 15 million for him.

His progress in my test save was decent, at the age of 26 Davies has solid speed, excellent mental attributes and solid skills needed for a full back (crossing, tackling, marking) and even decent technique. However, judging by his potential at the start of the game, I think he can become a lot better with good training and care.

His progress in the test save was hindered by Tottenham, they bought him in 2016 but hardly played him at all during three seasons before selling him to Wigan. So, the conclusion is that Ben Davies is not the next Gareth Bale, not even close, but he has great potential and can become a top left back. The asking price at the beginning of the game is a bit steep though.

EDIT: Oscar Lindholm has provided us some screen shots of Ben Davies in his game, the year is 2016 and Ben Davies is still at Swansea, playing regularly. As you can see, he is a bit better than it was in my test save after rotting for three years at Spurs.
