Coruxo FM 11 — The Halfway Mark

Published on

Hi everyone!

First off I would like to apologise for not being around, commenting/reading any stories or replying to any emails that have been sent to me. The reason is that my boyfriend has finally come home after a year away!!

For those who dont know, he is in the RAF and has been stationed in Germany since last February. I have only seen him a few times during that long period but now he is back home and is back for good!

I have been spending almost all my time with him and as such have not played too much on my game but I did mange to get a day to play half my season and have just finished getting all my pictures today in order to get my new post up.

I dont know how long my next post will take, with him home its seems I wont get as much time to play as I used to but I will do my best to get them posted as soon as I can.

So with that done lets move onto how my season actually went, now it seems like forever since I last posted but for those who have forgotten I lost in the playoff semi final and as such will remain in liga adelente for another season but we did finish alot higher that I imagined.

After a flurry of new faces and a money spinning pre-season I can now bring you the first few months of my season as we push for a possible promotion to la liga. No highlights I’m afraid as I just didnt have any time to get any, sorry!

September Results

So the season began with a stunning 6-2 win over Recreativo and its seemed my strikeforce of Amoah and Henrique was inspired as both sruck two goals each with fellow Brazilian’s Kaka and Carvalho adding some extra gloss to an impressive start.

A battling draw against Xerez, followed a dissapointing trip to Granada as we were beaten. However we ended the month really well with a home win over Girona and a narrow away win at Cordoba with my two centre backs on the score sheet!

October Results

October began with another narrow win Berigaud the hero after striking two late goals to edge a tight game against Albacete. Saric came off the bench to steal a narrow away win at Alcorcon but another defeat away at Hercules and we didnt play well.

We finished with a home win as Niang and the impressive Berigaud struck to give us the three points.

November Results

A narrow away win is how November started with Berigaud again scoring and our good away form continued as Salamanca and Rayo were beaten thanks to goals from Carvalho and Henrique.

Home defeat was dissapointing as Las Palmas got the winner and we struggled again at home with Amoah grabbing a late equaliser.

December Results

Three wins and a perfect month as Carvalho shone, first he struck twice against Leganes to seal a win and he went provider for both N’Diaye and Henrique with two superb assists.

He then struck a brilliant freekick against Deportivo and from two corners he twice found Diaz who sealed a comfortable away win.

The League Table

So we have made a very good start and we are 3rd through 17 games. As always we are scoring goals but our defence is also doing very well. Las Palmas have a good lead and have already beaten us once this season and Sociedad are a great club so will be tough to overtake, but hopefully with a bit of luck we can push them all season.

January Transfers

So all these deals were done in the winter break and all signed and sold before the January games had began. I made a few changes to the squad and also sold a few faces so lets have a look at the players in and out.

Transfers Out

So I sold Josue my young Portugese midfielder as I never really played him and Samuel was going for along time, and I got a great deal for him. I let Carlos go who has been amazing for me but at 36 he just wouldnt get a game and Gonzalez was sold after being a bit of a dissapointment.

I sold Amoah mostly for the money and at 33 going on 34 it made good business sense to cash in on him. Gueye struggled to settle from the day I signed him and really struggled to get to grips with the style I play so I also sold him in the window. Next a look at the new players :

Marc Valiente

Probably my best signing at Coruxo! A very talented centre back who should be a star in la liga but found himself out of favour so I quickly snapped him up on a free transfer and he will replace Diaz at the back. Diaz has been outstanding but Valiente is simply a better defender.

Jem Karacan

So fans in England may have heard of this player who I signed on free transfer from Reading. Really good midfield player who bring alot of hard work and is fairly well rounded. Along with Sunny and N’Diaye we have a very strong, hardworking and powerfull midfield!

Jonathon Viera

So my squad is a little short on Spaniards and I dont like that! I like to have a large amount of Spanish players in my squad so I brought in this player from Las Palmas. More of a back up striker to Berigaud and Henrique I payed £85k for him.

Unai Medina

Another Spainard and I bought him to start at right back, a major problem area for me! I just cant find any decent right full backs and had to pay £170k for this one! My fans were not happy as they saw it as a waste of money and in hindsight I may have to agree with them!

But I have faith in him he was a bit of a panic buy due to there being NO right backs available to me, but as my boyfriend said the best of a very bad bunch!

So thats it! Again sorry for being away but I did have a good excuse! :)

Will try my best to get my next post up as soon as I can but it just may take a little longer that usual and also thanks for reading and hopefully it reads ok as I didnt really have time to proof read it!!!
