Bury FC: Season 3 is over

Published on

Hi everyone, today i am going to bring you the update of the last part of our season.

Here are the results:

So we contiued our great form from my last update by winning four on the bounce. This was making our play off hopes stronger and maybe even a chance of automatic promotion! However then my team went on a terrible run of only winning 2 in 9! The morale went slightly low also. This terrible run ended my hopes of automatic promotion but did we get the all important play off spot?

Yes we did! We were the 3rd best team in the Championship the league table suggests. We were miles off second by 14 points! OMG! We will face Forest in the play off semi final. I wasn’t confident about the game at all because of our terrible run!

Jesus! What a hard game this turned out to be. We lost the first game only by 1 goal but it should have been by 10! The pace they have upfront was frightening! I had to tweat my tactics a bit and luckily we came out on top in the second game at home. However it was decided by penalties. Overall I feel we were very lucky to win this game!

So, off we went to Wembley for the final. Could we do it? The game was very even, each team only had 2 shots on target. The result ended in 0-0. It was down to penalties again… We won the semi final on penalties and i was confident we could do it again… And….

WE DID! we won 4-2 on penalties… We were promoted!! WOOOHOOOO!!!

And here is the player rating of the long hard season:

Ali Fuseini was our best player again! He will not be leaving, i can guarentee that. The rest of the squad have a 50-50 chance of being offloaded, so expect a squad revolution for next season!

So, after a long hard season, a season of ups and downs, we are in the premiership! It’s my 3rd promotion in a row, two of them coming with league titles.

Thanks for reading, take care, Sayam!
