Basingstoke: October — November 2009

Published on

Welcome back to the Blue Square South! We had been on a great run in the opening two months which saw us lead the league early on. Would we stay fortunate?

October

Bignall and Vasilev is keeping our hopes up still, but our first losses in the league came this month. I think with diverted focus on the fa cup it’s too much for my players at this stage. It’s difficult motivating them for every single game. Newport is a promotion candidate but 0-3 was still harsh for us as we weren’t that bad. The Bath game should’ve at least ended in a draw but we were ineffective. Dan Keat have been performing particulary well and is a good choice for any of the midfield positions, including the AMC role.

November

Still Bignall and Vasilev who’s producing the goods with the help from Laidler. The Weymouth game got us back on track after that 0-3 thumping against Newport. Then Wrexham kicked us out of the FA Cup but we’re at least through to the next round in the FA Trophy. Maidenhead gave us our third defeat and it’s not looking that easy anymore but we’re still playing really well and the boys impress me. Vasilev has been a particular highlight.

We’re still on top but Chelmsford has one game in hand and could go level with us.

Keep an eye out for the next post!

Cheers,

Majk
