Arsenal: August and September

Published on

Hello again everyone from snowy Scotland and I bring to you today the results of the months of August and September.. Firstly though, I will talk about a player I bought.

Connor Wickham

Connor is a very prospective striker, good in the air and decent attributes too. He is touted as the next Alan Shearer, which would be great :) My optimism is backed up by his great report:

Hopefully he can improve to reach his potential and he will be a great player! Now, before the matches, I’ll mention that we were drawn against Schalke, Valencia and H. Tel-Aviv in the Champions League draw. It certainly won’t be an easy group.

Matches

Although I would like to post in detail about all my matches but unfortunately I don’t have a lot of time due to school work so the way I’m going to do it is post the results, talk about them for a bit then put highlights up of the best match of the two months! I feel this should cover results well enough. So, here they are :D

So far, my Arsenal team are doing very well :) We started off with a game against Blackpool away which he won easily, and a good performance against Everton also deserved a win. We were extremely unlucky not to beat Stoke and it was only for some poor finishing and great goalkeeping that the game finished 0-0. It was frustrating but the performance was still good!  We saw off Birmingham reasonably easily and a great performance against Valencia fully deserved the scoreline. We beat Bolton away from home and we got defeated by Liverpool in the Carling Cup — mainly because they were playing a full team and we had the reserves out! However, I am not at all fussed by this competition. We beat West Brom easily and our trip to Germany to play Schalke was a bore, and the game was 0-0. I was very pleased by our start, we were creating a lot of chances and we were defending well too! Unfortunately, Van Persie has torn a calf muscle and will be out for about 3 months, I hope we don’t miss him too much.

Our quality will be really tested in the next month as we are playing Chelsea and Man City, which won’t be easy. Our good form also meant we are doing well in the tables:

We are top of the league with 5 games out of 6 won :) It would be great it we could keep up the good form.

We have made a good start to the group so hopefully we can push on and win the group! :)

Thanks for reading the post and I hope you have enjoyed reading it, the next post shall be my tactics!

Thanks,

Calum.
