Ana – FM 2011: Cheonan, Season One

Published on

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my round the world champions league challenge! My last post was an introduction to the challenge and also the club I have picked to manage with. I have decided to season reports instead of half or monthly as it would simply take too long to post my story/journey.

So lets have a look at how things have gone.

————————————————————————

So here are the results of my first half season in charge! I must admit am struggling to find a consistant run but in my first time managing in Korea so I guess I must be patient. My best result was probably the away win at Kookmin Bank, away wins are very hard to get!

That said the league is very tight, infact two wins can move you up so many places, just as two defeats can move you down. We lie in 7th and with four games left to play have a shot at the playoffs, which is a good target for my team who were predicted to finish 9th.

Am still finding a formation to suit my players and hopefully things will click into place in our final four games!

Wow, dissapointing end! No win and we were made to pay for missed chances. We should have managed a least a win so we blew any real chance we had of the playoff’s.

So we were predicted 9th and finished 9th, however I only took charge of the last 14 games managing five wins in a new league with a squad of players I have never heard of! I guess that was a good learning half season, a dress rehearsel for the new league starting and taking charge of a whole season.

I must admit I am enjoying this! Its nice to experience another league, away from the ones I usually play in and the challenge is even more fun! I applied to loads of nations but got rejected from them all! I wanted to raise my profile but I am still too low to be accepted, but am looking forward to the new season.

This is where the real work begins, I need to bring in my own players and sell of the ones I dont want. I made quite alot of money (In terms of our league!) in transfers out but still opted to sign freebies to save as much as I can. I wont post all the players as some are just not worth it! Instead I will highlight the best two I managed to sign.

Jung Eui-Joon

A centre back, and believe me, he is a pretty good one for this level, he played in the K league so should easily slot into the lower league!

Lee Tao-Woo

I really needed a midfielder who could pass! My other one are really bad so brought him to be a playmaker of the team. Good all round stats and another good signing.

The others were all just slightly better than the players I had so at least we are improving the squad a little and financially the club is fine with aroud £700k pounds in the bank balance!

My aims for next season are to finish better that we did this season, playoffs are possible but the league is so close it might be difficult but a good run and who knows! My scout is really helping me filter out the better players, so I can make the final judgement on them.

Thats it! Hoping for a good season!
