A Day in the Life of a Forum..

Published on

Hey everyone!

Haven’t seen me round in a while, and I’m not surprised as I haven’t posted on the main site for the best of four months. Anyway as you may or may not know, I am in charge of the FMS Forum and have been trying to make that a better and more welcoming place for members of the community so they can get started in doing some writing of their own. Not only that but the community spirit is brilliant and we would urge everyone to give it a go, who knows.. You could be up writing on the main site!

That aside, I will essentially be promoting the forum through the medium of the main site. Hopefully I can get a couple of posts on here every month to highlight some of the best stories in the forum, mainly giving them an opportunity to get some recognition outside the virtual walls of the forum.

So here is a little preview of the currently active stories in the forum:

Basque-ing In Glory V2 (Sears)

I have lost count with how many times Sears has actually tried to complete this story, if I’m honest it should be called V6.. Haha. Anyway, you all know him as an ex-writer on the main site, Sears has gone back to ‘recovered’ Bilbao save from September 2014. Very neatly presented and well written, he has managed wonders with both his Bilbao squad and national squad of Belgium winning the Champions League and Euro Championship respectively. Unfortunately the league is still alluding him, but as Madrid start to fall only Barca stands in his way.

The Unknown Manager Challenge (Acss)

Acss is a relatively new writer on the forum but his story is progressing well and intriguing us all on the forum. He has started out at Chavdar Etropole in the Bulgarian leagues and is currently looking forward to improve on his last when he brought European football to the side for the first time! Although short lived, he looks like he will make strides this year to better that achievement.

Fortuna Sittard — Youth Academy Challenge (Excessive)

I guess I am allowed to mention my own? Haha. Anyway, after a long period out doing university work and the like I have come back to try and make Fortuna Sittard one of the best teams in Holland only using what comes out of their academy. Currently we are progressing really nicely, having laid the foundations of some solid finishes in the top division of Dutch football, the team are competing for their first top half finish in the clubs history. Coupled with some outstanding youngsters coming through, we should have a good chance of getting into the European spots in the next few years.

FC Kobenhavn — Substory (MVB)

I’m not exactly too sure which story is better, but seeing as his substory from Denmark was last months ‘Story of the Month’ I would assume the majority would go for this. He narrates the life of his manager Christoffer Mortensen managing the Danish Superliga club FC Kobenhavn. Oddly he is managing in tandem with his Newcastle save which makes this so unique. Bringing his personal touch into his story has been fascinating and well deserves a read.

Anyway those are the stories I am most interested in at the moment, but there are plenty more on the forum to get your teeth stuck into. All of the stories can be found here.

Also make sure you enter our competitions, we have one running for ‘Goal of the Month’ and for ‘Story of the Month’. In the former you are able to win prizes from the FMS store while the latter gets a sticky one the Stories board.

Cheers,
Excessive
