Some of you might have noticed the new poll that was started here shortly after November 5th, I was asking you about the new features in Football Manager 2011 and you voted for the ones you like best. 376 people voted so far so I decided to close the poll and share the results with you. So let’s see which are your favourite FM 2011 new features.
1. The improved player and board interaction. (41%, 156 Votes)
This option won the poll by a very big margin and I have to admit that it’s one of my favourites too. The bottom line is that you can really talk to your players and to the board in FM 2011! When a player gets upset for some reason you can talk to him and either calm him down or make things even worse. This is one of the major additions in FM 2011 and a feature that really makes the game better and more realistic.
2. The agents. (26%, 98 Votes)
I should have named this option «agents and contract negotiations» because in my view these two features can be considered as a package. The presence of agents surely adds more realism to the game but what I have liked (a lot!) is the new contract negotiations module because now you can really feel that you are negotiating! It’s a give and take process and I have discovered that sometimes you end up paying a much smaller wage to a player than his initial demand.
3. The match engine. (16%, 61 Votes)
The improved match engine surely makes the game more addictive than the previous versions, I found myself playing it for much more time than I would have wanted :) The new TV camera mode is absolutely stunning and the good thing is that you can use the 3D view even on an older computer like mine.
4. The set piece creator. (9%, 34 Votes)
This one is not among my favourites to be honest, it does give a better understanding of the set piece approach but it doesn’t add much compared to the previous versions of the game. However, nine percent of our voters liked it enough to vote for it.
5. The Match Analysis screen. (5%, 17 Votes)
This one is a great feature in my view and I’m surprised that it grabbed only five percent of the total votes. I particularly like the positional heat map and the fact that you can analyze all the players at once instead of just one by one. It’s a feature that can give you a lot of help with evaluating your tactical approach and your players.
6. The Youtube and Twitter integration. (3%, 10 Votes)
I guess you’ve all watched most of the goals in our stories, it’s a huge feature for us storytellers and from what I’ve seen so far the readers are really enjoying it.
