Stade Malherbe Caen: Nov — Dec 2013

Published on

Hi and welcome back dear readers!

This post covers the months of November and December, and let us not waste any time.

We’ve been playing convincingly and the only upsets we’ve had have been draws. 2 ligue 1 games against Lyon and Nancy were a low point but not really that bad. We managed to secure second place in the CL group aswell after that 1-0 win against Schalke 04. Yatabaré is really carrying the team forward but in the last few games Villalva has started to find his footing and has been bagging 5 goals in the last 4 games.

The Club World Cup was the next title I could win and it turned out to be a walk in the park. With Melbourne up in the first match ( the semi-final) we really couldn’t have it any easier. We were 4-0 up at half-time and they never really threathened our keeper.

The Final was against Boca Juniors and I was prepared for a tougher game this time but they were amazingly weak. They did manage to hold us off in the first half, only conceding 1 goal. But in the second half we broke through and the end result was a staggering 6-1 in our favour. Gignac bagged a hat-trick and Albin Ekdal produced 3 assists. Villalva came off the bench to score a brace and Pedro Leon scored the other goal.

The league standings:

10 points clear and still unbeaten. This looks to be a very good run for the league title.

The January Window is now coming up and what is there to do with my team?

Michel Bastos might leave as he haven’t played much. He was also signed on a free so going from 0 to generating a few millions is always good business. Lars Saalbach, the central defender I signed this season has been complaining a lot about not finding his own in this new enviroment. He’s a good Defender and could possibly generate a rather hefty income. We will see what I’ll do.

Until next time, Take care.
