Sears — FM11 Terek: Pre Season 15/16

Published on

Hey guys and welcome back to my FM11 Terek story. As you know, I resigned as Queens Park manager and joined Russian First Division side Terek half way through their campaign. They were having a disappointing season before I led them to an unlikely promotion. Now I must prepare for the Premier Division, and it will undoubtedly be incredibly arduous to regain our top flight status.

The club received just under £1,000,000 pounds in TV rights prior to the new season which to be honest is extremely disappointing. Hopefully we’ll receive a far larger sum depending on where we finish this campaign… Anyway the financial state of the club was secure as we had around £14,ooo,ooo pounds in the bank balance as we approached the new season. Regarding the season expectations, I decided to take a gamble. I told the board we could finish in a mid table position in order to obtain more cash. The board gave me £11,750,000 pounds and a wage budget of £175,000 per week.

The media weren’t to enthusiastic either, we are predicated to finish second last and lack any chance of achieving anything else.

Let’s see my transfers, I made a huge loss but I won’t be here long enough to care about it tbh. Terek will just be a stepping stone to what I really want to achieve in this journeyman story. I would have liked to have sold more players, but I don’t want to risk anything yet as this Russian journey is new to me. Most of the players I signed are foreign, but I can easily make a profit on them. I did manage to sign some Russians, and of course I wanted to sign more but their value didn’t justify their ability. If we do manage to stay up, then next season I will defiantly attempt to ship out some of my foreign players and sign more Russians.

Like last time, I won’t introduce all the players, instead I’ll show you those who I think will be essential to our progress this campaign.

Mauricio:

I was pleased with the current number 1 I had, but I wanted somebody amazing in goal and I think I found him. I spent £3,200,000 pounds to bring him here and I believe he’ll be well worth the price. Introducing my new number 1, Mauricio!

Vladimir Rzhevskiy:

Interestingly enough, my defense was phenomenal last season as we kept 8 clean sheets in a row. I knew improvement was needed however and I signed Vladimir for just £190,000 pounds. He will be Burlak’s new partner and I’m sure this Russian defensive duo can keep a reasonable amount of clean sheets this season.

Vladimir Granet:

Granet will be my new left back, and considering I paid a hefty £1,800,000 for his services, I really hope he can pay me back with some consistent performances on the pitch. A »one cap wonder», this player adds more quality to my left flank and will be extremely vital to our season if we are to stay up.

Leandro:

Bearing in mind hiss price, Leandro isn’t much of a risk. Yeah, there’s always the fear that he may flop, but I can easily make a profit on him considering his tiny price of £140,000. He’s quick, determined and skillful. I’m optimistic he can develop further here and become a quality player has he certainly possess the potential to do so.

Marcao:

My »marquee» signing, I spent a mega £2,800,000 on Marcao. Me and Santos argued for ageeeees over the transfer fee, they wanted £4,100,000 at the beginning but I managed to persuaded to decrease their initial asking price and we settled on £2,800,000. He will more than likely become my new »advanced playmaker».

Ruslan Pashtov:

Ruslan will either be my new right winger or my new »poacher». He’s extremely pacey but his mental attributes are very poor. Hopefully he will score some important goals this season.

We played no less than 14 pre season friendlies, and 13 of those were played away. We began terribly, losing 6 out of our first 7 fixtures. However my new players clearly made a significance difference we we won our next 6 games before drawing our last game. The main aim of these fixtures were to raise cash as we received nearly £100,000 in appearance fees for the majority of the friendlies.

Our opening game away to Spartak will be extremely intimidating, but I’ll anticipating to benefit against some of the lesser sides. It will be extremely difficult, but I’m confident we can avoid relegation.

Well folks, that concludes today’s post. If you want to see the player profile of my other new acquisition’s just let me know and I’ll post up a picture in my next post. Thanks for reeding and feel free to express your opinion.
