Hey everyone, welcome back to my Queens Park story. I havn’t posted in a while, that’s because I havn’t played much of my Queens Park file in a while. Everything has settled and I can post regularly again. Yay! Anyway, in my previous post if you remember we did alright in August, won some matches and then lost our last two I think. This post will cover my results from September until November thus let’s see how my magical Spiders have settled in the First Division.
Sept-Nov results:
Unfortunately our dismal run continued as we managed a disappointing draw Morton. We then got beaten by Hamilton, but we reached the Challenge Cup semi final with a comprehensive victory over Morton at home 3-1. Kilmarnock trashed us 3-0, but what followed after shocked me, and probably the nation as well. We polished ourselves off to launch a raid for the title, five back to back wins saw us rise from beneath the crust of the earth to the dizzy heights of the First Division. Yes, in under just five matches, we somewhat fortunately found ourselves challenging for the title. Could this phenomenal run continue or would the peer pressure of challenging for the title utterly destroy my squad? The answer is the latter. Following our astounding winning streak, we endured a terrible November. No win in five, and only three points out of a possible fifteen. This frightful form has plunged us back into an unnecessary relegation battle. Agh the thrill of being amateur :-)
Table:
Our league position has improved since August, amazingly were both in a relegation battle and in the midst of a title challenge. Some wins could propel our title challenge, or some bad form may see us dragged closer and closer towards the wrong end of the table. One thing I’ve learnt thus far is that Brechin WILL finish bottom.
Player ratings:
The majority of my players have been mediocre. Mayulu has impressed, Guy has been alright, Jean-Marie has been OK too. Reece Hands is superb! Everybody else has been extremely inconsistent and if we succeed in staying up, I will revamp this team for next season and lead a properly organized title challenge. Until then, this depressing group of individuals will have to stay.
That’s it for today’s post, thanks for reading and take care.
