Huge Season After Season Roundup Pt-2!

Published on

So having gotten over the dissapointment of my team being knocked out of the champions league by Inter, I will now post the second part of my season by season review! :)

2016/17

Season began with the purchase of a few new players.  I broke my transfer record by signing Brazilian Neymar for £12 million pounds, Lisandro Lopez, and a regen Luis Lopez Fernandez were all drafted in. Lopez being one of the brightest talents in Spanish football.

We began the season well, after 18 games we were joint top with Real madrid on 42 points and once again sailed through our europa league group meeting Besiktas in the next round. Talk also that our long standing chairman wanted to leave!

We beat Besiktas but were knocked out by French champions Lyon after a 4-4 two legged affair, but they went through on away goals. We were still in second but were eight points now behind Real Madrid after 32 games so the league was pretty much over!

A takeover collapse greeted us first, then we achieved our highest ever la liga finish! Finising third behind Real and Barca. So we secured champions league football for the first time in our clubs history!

Star men : Leo, Avg 7.25 in 45 games and Kramaric who scored 32 times in 45 games.

2017/18

We began with our relocation to our new stadium! And excitement was thriving at the club. I sold Sergio Tejera for a club record £18 million to Inter and was sad to see him go. My transfers were for the future but included Sergiy Krystov.

After 16 games we were placed 5th in the league and struggled to gain any momentum, maybe the new stadium was a curse? But we finished top of our champions league group that contained Chelsea! And met Galatasary in the knock out stage.

We beat the Turkish champions then met Bayern Munich, league results picked up and we were third after 30 games played. Everything was looking good for my little side. We also had a board room change during which three bids went wrong. Was glad that everything was sorted out!

Bayern went all the way to penalties and we crumbled in the pressure as Luis Lopez Fernandez blazed his penalty wide sending the German side into the next round. Was still really pleased with my team! Once again we finished third in the league so more champs league football!

Star man : Andrej Kramaric 34 goals in 44 games

2018/19

Phew! Nearly there now!

My 10th season began with another record breaking transfer, with Neymar moving to Chelsea for £34 million pounds so repalcements were bought!

David was drafted in a regen from Valencia and one of the best strikers in world football at the moment, he joined Peter Lowe a journey man from England who hadnt really settled at any club.

We set out for glory and once again went through the group stage meeting old rivals Lyon! The Spanish cup was a competition I decided to take seriously (Usually I play a second string team!) and we were in the semi final against Sevilla. Our league form was good as we were 7 points clear at the top after 22 games!

A regen called Vadinho was bought, a 6’5» giant Brazilian forward to help give us another way to play.

We beat Lyon and met Juventus! But our penalty curse struck again this time regen Flavio missing the vital pen, that sent Juve through. However Sevilla were beaten as we finally beat someone on pens! we scored 4/4 to set up a final against Barcelona!

In the league we were 10 points clear with 6 games left to play so our first la liga was in sight!

We dominated from start to finish and claimed our first title in the club’s history, and in style with a massive 10 point advantage. A great day for the club and a proud one for me, after being here so long.

But we had a double celebration as we hammered Barca 5-2 in the cup final to add my second trophy of the season! And so completed a Spanish double. I went on to win manager of the year and signed another 4 year contract here.

Star man : Luc Castaignos 24 goals from 52 games playing in midfield.

2019/2020

Ok, made no signings but added the Spanish super cup to our trophy cabinet by beating Barca 7-6 over two legs in a brilliant two games.

After 17 games we were top but only two clear of Atletico Madrid. Again we qualified from our group to meet Feyenoord in the knockout stage and were in the next roundof the Spanish cup.

We beat Feyenoord but injury had ravaged my side, we also got to the final of the Spanish cup beating Real along the way to set up a game against Atletico Madrid. They were having a brilliant season and led la liga by 5 points but we did have a game in hand. This was going all the way.

End of season and just too many injuries, as we lost our la liga title. We finished 2nd 8 points behind Atletico who then went on to hammer us 4-1 in the cup final but my team was gone. Made up of fringe players and under 18’s, due to an injury crisis.

We beat Porto but were knocked out of the champions league by Real Madrid, but again injury was their and we just couldnt compete.

Star man : Luc Castaignos with 22 in 35 games after missing the whole of the second half of the season!

2020/21

Yay!! We are finally here!

My current season, and just a little bit of news that we are expanding the stadium by 11,ooo seats. We also made a few transfers in Azparren, Rigby and Gauchino which will mean nothing to you as they are all regen’s.

I plan on doing a full team roster so you can see every player in my team and there stats since I have had them. Also I will post my manager profile and team legends and record holders to give you all the information about the club.

Its been a long 12 year stay at Union but am finally caught up!

Hope everything is easy to follow, and to read (And no-one can comment on the Barca match last night!!:D)
