Football Manager 2012 Predictor League

FM 12 is coming in just a few weeks, the Premier League has started just a couple of weeks ago and for the first time you have the chance to combine the two into something that could get you some very, very nice prizes. Starting this season Sports Interactive are offering a predictions league for us Football Manager fans, a league where you can predict scores for the English Premier League and, if you want, for the Scottish Premier League as well.

I entered the EPL edition and I’m not very proud to report that I scored just 10 points on the first match day, that ranks me … 1894th! Well that is out of 8665 players at the moment but I guess I’m not in the best position to give advice :) However, my strategy is to check each football match preview stats before considering my prediction and then also check the official Premier League site for the latest news before finally taking a chance in the predictor league.

As for the prizes, those are quite juicy in my view:

• Overall Prize

The highest scoring manager at the end of the competition will win an 64GB iPad 2 and a pair of tickets to a top Spanish La Liga game with flights, accommodation and £500 spending money! If that’s not exciting then I don’t know what is! :)

• Team of the month

The highest scoring manager each month will win a copy of Football Manager 2012, a FM12 T-shirt and £100 to spend on football tickets for 2 to a football match of your choice for you and a friend.

The game months are as follows:

September 2011: Gameweeks 4 to 6 inclusive (10/09/2011 — 30/09/2011)

October 2011: Gameweeks 7 to 10 inclusive (01/10/2011 — 04/11/2011)

November 2011: Gameweeks 11 to 13 inclusive (05/11/2011 — 02/12/2011)

December 2011: Gameweeks 14 to 17 inclusive (03/12/2011 — 30/12/2011)

January 2012: Gameweeks 18 to 22 inclusive (31/12/2011 — 03/02/2012)

February 2012: Gameweeks 23 to 25 inclusive (04/02/2012 — 02/03/2012)

March 2012: Gameweeks 26 to 29 inclusive (03/03/2012 — 30/03/2012)

April 2012: Gameweeks 30 to 34 inclusive (31/03/2012 — 27/04/2012)

May 2012: Gameweeks 35 to 37 inclusive (28/04/2012 — 13/05/2012)

So I guess that I might be pretty much out of contention for the September prize but I assure you that I’ll keep fighting to get those La Liga tickets! :) I hope that you will join the game if you haven’t done that already and I wish you good luck ;)
