FMS — July 2010

Published on

Hey everyone!

The first season of the FMS team is finally out! Basically, it took a lot of sorting out which is why it took so long. Numerous database faults within the game needed sorting out and it has kind of escalated from there. Seems now I have actually got everything up and running (bar a few minor issues) and we can concentrate in getting this team into the Premiership :)

Note: I couldn’t change the colours of the kits in game for some reason (although they have been changed in the database?). So for the videos we play in Maroon for the Home Kit, and Yellow and Black stripes for the Away Kit.

First off, I would like to point out that because of the database problems there are 14 players (including me) that have currently left the team for their own favourite teams. Basically this was due to the database only taking 50 players per team and due to the massive 64 players we had applying for this, it was all I could do to still include you. The players are listed along with their respective clubs below:
Swede — Man City
Vinners — Reading
Joshy — Liverpool
Cs Atlantis — Birmingham
Laxeyman — Liverpool
Big Mac — Liverpool
Martin Pickard — Man Utd
Bambini — Arsenal
Widge — Reading
Timmy — Man Utd
Chris — Arsenal
Nick — Man Utd
Lye — Arsenal
Daniel Ellis — West Ham

Again, apologies for this but I will still be screen-shotting your player every 6 months to let you know how he is developing. If you would like to come back to the club in the future, my player has a future transfer for 3 years time so if anyone would like that, just give me a shout and I’ll see what I can do :)

Right then, thanks to all of you that have given your feedback. To those still at the club, your regimes and loan status’ have been set ready for the new season. Lets crack on with it then!

FMS vs FMS Reserves (Intra squad Friendly)

First up then a game against one another! The game didn’t really kick in until 30 minutes in, and it was only a piece of magic from Crosby that set the game alight. His jinxing run from the left hand side led to a cross from the byline which was volleyed home by Smith about 7 yards out. Calamitous defending cause the next goal though just before the half. Smith leaving Wolfman for dead just outside the area, his shot was saved by Skunker and the Reserves goal seemed to be unharmed. Skip however had other ideas, and when his back pass failed to meet the keeper, Pepper was there to score a tap-in from a couple of yards out! The first team rounded off the match with a scorcher from Rodrigo just outside the area, playing a one-two with Bmwdestroyer before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corner.

FMS vs Falkirk (Friendly)

First of the friendly matches for the first team was against Scottish side Falkirk at Patriot Park. Defensive frailties again had cost the away side a goal, this time it was Finnagan. His pass was misplaced straight into the path of Pepper, the young Englishman picking up the ball from the half way line and smashing a shot straight into the bottom right hand corner. FMS were looking the better side in the opening 10 minutes, and their persistence prevailed when they doubled their lead. A corner from the left was cleared, but the exchangement of passes from outside the area meant Sea was free to shoot. With noone around him, the young Irishman curled a delightful shot into the top corner from
20 yards out.
Would be Falkirk who would grab one back before the half though, nothing Vaibhavc could do about it as Malcolm hit a beautiful volley into the top corner from outside the area. FMS continued their dominace their after though adding another couple of goals to seal the win. The first coming from a Crosby freekick, his cross meeting the head of Von Karma before a brilliant run from Gupta inside his own half set Smith free to beat the keeper from 10 yards out.

Hayes & Yeading vs FMS (Friendly)

Next match was away against Hayed & Yeading of the Blue Square Premier. Again, FMS got off to the brightest of starts with two goals inside the first 10 minutes. The first coming from a well taken strike by MRDNRA inside the home box as a thrown-in from the left hand side fell to Judast teed him up well from outside the area. The second a freekick from Jenko. His first attempt hitting the wall, but he made no mistake on the second, squirming the ball underneath and into the bottom left hand corner. The lads went 3-0 up just before half time to seal a great half, Bushy with the goal from just outside the 5 yard area following a cross from Wolf.
H&Y did manage to get one back through a free kick which saw Buchanan score with a close range header but FMS added a further two goals to see the game out. A delightful header from Rodrigo after a Brazza cross came first before a freak goal from Gupta saw a clearance come out to the right hand side. On the half volley, the young right back hit a screamer from 30 yards to the delight of the travelling fans!

FMS vs Swindon (Friendly)

Back at home then next, for a game against Swindon. Again FMS started off the better side, Smith getting on the scoresheet after a defence splitting pass from Hazza falling to him about 10 yards out. He didn’t stop there though, adding another to his tally 20 minutes later after a goal kick was headed by Dully into the path of Dami. Dami passed it to Smith and he did the rest from there, skinning the defenders and crashing a shot in off the under side of the bar! It was the assister who made it 3-0 though, Dami unleashing a wiked shot into the bottom right hand corner after a layoff from Smith. FMS went into the break 4-0 up after great work from Pepper found Crosby all alone from 3 yards to dink a header in at the far post.
5-0 came soon afterwards though, Plobdork with the freekick down the right wing which was picked up by Pepper. His incisive lob into the area found Dami who made no mistake from 5 yards. Swindon scored to pull one back for the visitors after Pavett was sent one on one with Matty B but it was too little too late and FMS capped a resounding win off with Matt hitting it home from 4 yards after great play by Dezmo down the right hand side.

Distillery vs FMS (Friendly)

Penultimate friendly saw us travel to Northern Ireland to face Distillery. Must have been playing an Alcohol factory team as again FMS scored two inside the opening 10 minutes. Rodrigo’s cross leading to Wolf‘s opener with a shot from outside the area before Bushy teed up Matt to score just inside the 6 yard box while under pressure from the opposing keeper. Matt scored another after 13 minutes, Johnson finding him unmarked inside the area to hit home from 8 yards. Massive suspicion of offside though? Half time came with a score of 4-0 to the visitors after Bushy scored from close range and with the Home side down to 10 men after Gourley‘s wreckless challenge on Matt.
After the break, Ross managed to pull one back for the home side after squeezing past Yank but it was all plain sailing for the visitors from there on in, after Bmwdestroyer made it 5-1 after a great cross from MRDNRA.

FMS vs Newcastle (Friendly)

Last pre-season game saw us come up against Premier League opposition in the form of Newcastle. Things got off to an incredible start as we scored again within the opening 10 minutes. A cross from Pilgrim setting up a sliding Pepper to put FMS 1-0 up! It only lasted a couple of minutes though as Newcastle replied straight from the restart, Lua Lua jinxing past the midfielders before supplying Gutierrez who didn’t miss from 10 yards out. The home side did retake the lead though through a Smith header to send FMS fans into extacy and produce a brilliant match of football within the first 12 minutes. A Nolan strike did make sure Newcastle drew back level but they went into the break with 10 men, Ameobi the culprit as he sliced down G.
Vuckic put the visitors 3-2 up in the second half with a sublime header into the far corner but FMS would have the last laugh as they captured a well deserved draw when Brazza headed home from a Dezmo corner.

Here is a screenshot to round off the fixtures:

Nearly all wins! The FMS team has been fantastic, whoever plays really and judging on the performances against Newcastle in particular, we shouldn’t have a problem challenging for promotion from the Championship next season :).

Will round off with a little news then, and first are the major injuries.

Screenshots say it all really, Von Karma out for 3-4 weeks and an unfortunate Matt out for 2 months!

There has been a lot of transfer speculation with us though, and im glad to say I have managed to keep onto the whole squad after the first month. Although there were a few scares:

United offering a contract to Youngster Rodrigo..

…before rejecting them and signing a first team contract for us! Good lad :)

Lastly, some screenshots of ‘wanted’ pages that were requested from the last update..

The Championship kicks off in August, and we have a tough opening game against Reading before ending the month with Leeds and Swansea!

Tough I must say, but we do have some quality players that can do the job so I’m not too fussed. The new images of all the players will be changed by Johnny sometime in the next couple of days if your worrying about what you look like (again). That’s all from me today though, and as ever, I’d love to here any requests that you may have. We will be listening! :D
