Leonardo Baptistão is a late bloomer, serious illness and a collarbone injury hid this kids talent for many years. That was until 2011, when Leo shone for Rayo B. Impressive form and the sale of Michu to Swansea offered Baptistao the luck he’d lacked when starting his career. Rayo Vallecano called the Brazilian up for first team duty and he never looked back.
This potential Football Manager 2014 wonderkid operates as the false number 9 suiting both Rayo and Leonardo, he often drifts out wide fashioning his own chance or a crossing opportunity to supply the late run of teammates hence assisting as many efforts as he scored in La Liga. One quality I really admire in this kid is his attitude. He never laid down in the face of adversity and always seems to smile, its great to see a Footballer loving the game, we don’t see enough of that.
Man Utd and Liverpool showed an interest in the Rayo player before Atletico Madrid paid a reported 5-7 million euro’s. This FM 2014wonderkid attracted a lot of hype for his Liga BBVA performances last season, its just a shame we’ll be paying a hefty sum for his services come FM 2014.
What should we expect from this FM 2014 wonderkid? From what I’ve seen pace, acceleration, dribbling, determination and general mental attributes should be his best. I also think he should play best as an advanced forward or even a Trequartista, two different roles but his game suits both.
