Hey guys and welcome to our FM 2020 Cheap Players countdown, featuring the top 12 wonderkids available for under £6 million. We have set some simple guidelines to make this list as useful as possible, each Football Manager 2020 cheap player must fall under the criteria below:
- Cost less than £6 million
- Under 23 years old
- Willing to sign for teams like Newcastle, Leicester & Everton
Each FM 2020 cheap player should have an instant impact for most top flight clubs and develop well offering a big return on investment. We have not taken the easy route and included youth players who wouldn’t move in a month of Sundays. Where possible we have excluded some good prospects due to work permit restrictions, however there are a couple we just couldn’t leave out.

FM 2020 Cheap Players: Top 9-12
We will go in descending order, sorry guys but trust me number one is worth waiting for. Here are numbers 12 through 9, I personally like number eleven a proper old fashioned centre back.
12 — Noah Okafor | 19yo | AML | £5.5 million cost | PA: -8

Okafor is a solid left winger, naturally right footed he is best used as an inside forward. Not the highest flexible potential but Noah’s development proved consistent across all our test saves. Great with the ball at feet he is fast, skillful and posses’ an all round Athletic physique. Not many inside forwards have the engine and strength to boot.
11 — Pau Torres | 22yo | DC | £5 million cost | PA: 156

Those who know me, know I cannot resist a lanky, strong centre back with roar power in the air. Torres has good speed and all round ability, best used as a central defender he could work as a ball playing defender also. There are not many DC’s of this quality for £5 million guys, a very tasty FM 2020 cheap player indeed.
10 — Jonathan Ikone | 21yo | AMR | £4.5 million cost | PA: 151

It was a toss up between Ikone and Terrier, both similar players but the man from Lille got my vote. This kid could do a job from day one with his speed, ability on the ball and good mental attributes. Best used from AMR as an inside forward Jonathan posses’ fixed potential and seems great value at £4.5 million.
9 — Lovro Majer | 21yo | AMC | £2.9 million cost | PA: 151

A very special player with fantastic technical ability, Majer would make a great playmaker. Sat just behind the frontline this kid developed 16 and above in no less than 7 technical attributes, that is impressive! At just £2.9 million he shoots up my shortlist as one of the best Football Manager 2020 cheap players.
FM 2020 Cheap Players: Top 5-8
Are you ready for numbers 8 through 5? Look out for number seven, great wing backs are hard to find in Football Manager 2020.
8 — Cesar Montes | 22yo | DC | £5.5 million cost | PA: -85

Montes has the potential to be a great ball playing defender and fulfilled his promise for Chelsea. With no real weakness this kid has a lot of potential for a 22 year old and costs just £5.5 million. Remember -85 flexible potential means Cesar could be rated as high as 170.
7 — Borna Sosa | 21yo | DL | £3 million cost | PA: 148

He may have the lowest fixed potential on our list but Sosa is one of my favourites. There are few wing backs of quality this year, unless you can break the bank but you don’t have to. £3 million gets you a cracking FM 2020 cheap player with speed, crossing ability, technique and good all round defensive awareness. The development above can happen every save with good management, Sosa has fixed potential so the chances of buying a flop are zero.
6 — Alan Franco | 22yo | DC | £5.75 million cost | PA: 150

I’m not quite sure what first drew me to Franco, maybe his Mafia sounding surname? What a defender though, that development in 2026 is pretty impressive. An absolute athlete, Alan has fantastic mental attributes and could make a great ball playing defender.
5 — Vincenzo Millico | 18yo | ST/AML | £5.75 million cost | PA: -85

I almost overlooked Millico due to his current ability, the kids good and could do a job off the bench but not starting XI material. Then I saw his development save after save and had to include him. Vincenzo would make a great utility man but I like him upfront. My strikers need ability on the ball, speed in behind and good movement/anticipation, Millico ticks all the boxes. If you need a goalscoring inside forward for the left wing, Millico’s your man.

Finally, our top four FM 2020 cheap players for under £6 million. Every wonderkid should develop into Worldclass talents and rake you in a fortune if sold on. Make sure you are sat down for number one!
4 — Agustin Almendra | 19yo | MC/MR | £5.75 million cost | PA: -85

A victim of versatility Almendra can seem underwhelming at first glance. But look at the Argentians attribute wheel and you’ll notice how well rounded he is, this kid can pass, dribble, has good mental attributes and no physical weakness’. Now worth £67 million in our test save Almendra would make a fantastic Mezalla or central midfielder but could also do well from MR as a winger.
3 — Matias Arezo | 16yo | ST | £900K cost | PA: -85

The bargain of our FM 2020 cheap players Arezo looks electric. He developed insane speed, mentals, technique and ability to carry the ball in our test save. Naturally a striker Matias could play poacher or false nine to name a few but would also re-train well to AML as an inside forward. Available for £900K and worth £59 million for PSG, thats some investment. Unfortunately you may struggle for a work permit and some of those starting attributes can vary.
2 — Andre Anderson | 19yo | MC/AMC | £5.75 million cost | PA: -85

Have I shown my appreciation for well rounded midfielders yet? Anderson is just that and in a position usually dominated by technique and lacking elsewhere. The Brazilian is quick, a complete athlete, great passer and skilfull carrier of the ball. Anderson can assist, score and even shoot from range. In fact the only thing he can’t do is throw a ball and mark a man.

Here he is guys, what a bloody player! Labelled the next Messi in real life Almada has it all and holds the highest potential rating of all our FM 2020 cheap players. He can pass, score, dribble, posses’ good speed, agility, fantastic all round mentals and is even a set piece specialist. Sorry to say he will struggle for a work permit initially in England but we don’t all manage there and hes the player of the game in my opinion all considered. Oh and Chelsea paid upwards of £130 million so thats the profit box ticked.
