This FM 2014 Player Profile of Oriol Romeu shows a rock solid anchor man with excellent mental stats who can create as well as defend. During our test save Romeu increased his mental attributes greatly, fantastic work rate, concentration and positioning make him the perfect candidate to hunt down the opposition just in front of your defence. These are backed up by good physical attributes and tackling, not to mention great marking. While defensive roles such as anchor man and ball winning midfielder will work well, I think he can equally be adept as a regista or deep lying playmaker.
