This FM 2014 player profile of Emerson shows a decent full back reasonably priced with well rounded ability both going forward and defending. I’ll be the first to admit the screenshots above don’t blow your socks off, but Emerson can develop beyond this and he is a reliable wing back that can be dangerous going forward. The big bonus is you could use the Brazilian as backup from season one and he develops those mental attributes over time which are the main weak link to his game. A bit more speed would make this kid far more attractive but for £3.5 million is not a bad option.
