Hi everyone and welcome back to my Coruxo story. Last time we managed to win the title with a final game decider so are now preparing ourselves for our first ever time in la liga.
So lets have a look at the summer’s transfer activities and how my spending went!
——
So the season began with some good news as we are now improving both our youth and training facilities at a cost of £375k. The cost wont hurt the club too much and they should be ready in time for the new season so thats a bit of good news.
Unlike Johnny I am a bit scared of failure! He always picks mid-table finish but I couldnt face it so just went with avoid relegation!
That said we were given a good transfer budget of £5 million and an excellent wage cap of £105k and we are about £50k under so I have a lot to work with! On my Real Union game we were not given this type of money or anywhere near it so am fairly happy with the money given.
I dont really want to waste it but I did sell some players and as always some just had to go and others I didnt want to sell but the amount of money offered was too much and I had to accept it. Lets have a look at the players that I sold :
So Veseli was the first sold for £3 million to Empoli which makes me think that I probably should have held on to him as he obviously has good potential but I cant argue with the money I got to help the club with. Berigaud was sold for money only and at £3.4 million I couldnt really refuse.
He was unhappy and wanted away, also he twice handed in a transfer request that I rejected and I hoped that now we are in la liga his attitude would change but it didnt so I just sold him. Saric was sold for £625k and Mossa for £75k neither were in my plans for la liga so just sold both.
Perez was also sold after another transfer request was handed in, I accepted and offered him out and got almost £2 million for him so that took our total to £9 million pounds and with the £5 million I had it meant I could splash a bit of money on some players.
Lets have a look at the new faces :
Daniel Ayala
So my first signing was that of Daniel Ayala for £1.7 million pounds, I feel that he will provide good back up at centre back and with Kaka and Valiente I am hopeful he can push them to keep their places. His stas are pretty good and a bonus that he is Spanish!
Imanol Agirretxe
So my record signing at £2.3 million from Real Sociedad, he is a centre forward and has a pretty good strike record so am hoping he can score the goals we will need to survive. I will partner him alongside Henrique so his job is more to hold the ball up and play other players in with his strength and power. A pretty decent finsher too!
Wilson Palacios
A free transfer! I had to get him I would have regretted it if I didnt and on a free there is hardly any risk, I was surprised he was released but he will definatly start in my midfield and seems to be the perfect holding midfield player.
Kevin Theohile Catherine
So right back continues to annoy me as I cant find any decent right backs. This was the best I could find who wanted to join me and having looked at him now he just isnt good enough! I payed a silly £700k for him but he looks a waste of money but hopefully he will play better than his stats suggest!!
Mikel Balenziaga
I manged to find a pretty good left back in Balenziaga and payed a million pounds for him, Spanish which is what I wanted and a good age to develop pretty good stats and will be a starter for my team.
Renan Garcia
No relation! But another free transfer and is a midfield player, he will be more of a back up player but his stats are good and should be able to step in when I will need him.
Ryan Mendes de Graca
My final signing and another freebie, I dont have too much pace in my team so this player was brought in for that reason. He is part French so will have no trouble with foreign status so hopefully he can make a difference from the bench. My thinking is to bring him on late into games when the opposition defenders start to tire so he can use he pace to cause some problems.
So thats it! My pre-season was a typical affair cashing in as much as I can in Asia and Australia. Our first game of the season is home at Real Madrid so we will be thrown straight it and the deep end! A tough season awaits so am keeping my fingers crossed that we can survive!
