Coruxo : A Fresh Start!

Hi everyone!

I really hope you are enjoying the new game so far, and enjoying all the new features I really like being able to talk to my board and get better feedback but also quite like that agents come to you and offer their players I also like how players come to you with their problems which I have already had a few!

So a new manager always signals new ideas and of course new players so I was busy in the transfer window signing as many good players I could find to improve this little team. Here is a quick overview of that :

So we welcome 7 new faces and I twice smashed our record transfer fee! First goalkeeper Benjamin Gouget but I payed three times as much for a striker simply known as Carlos! I struggled to offload any players so am stuck with them until their contracts expire, which thankfully shouldnt be too long.

I wasnt going to post up my squad but seeing as its so small I guess I will! I will post my starting eleven with subs and I have one or two under 19’s to bolster my numbers! I will also show you the tactic I have been using so far :

Its basically my formation with a lot of changes that worked for me so well on the last game, this is I believe my best team. Its a standard back four, with fullbacks that help support the attack and to cross when given the chance, three narrow in midfield with a creative player on the left, a very defensive minded security player in the middle and a sort of utility player on the right.

I play an advanced attacking midfielder off two strikers one being a taller player the other a very good finisher. So far its worked very well but am still tinkering with it but I like it so far, next up I will show you my squad complete with new transfers.

Goalkeepers :

Benjamin Gouget

My new goalkeeper and believe me he is 10 times better than the one we had! We are not allowed any non-eu player in the squad registration so I was a bit limited but found this french man and payed £1k to make him my new number 1! A regular in the lower French leagues hopefully he can bring some stabilty at the back.

Alberto

The man he replaced! As you can see Gouget is alot better but Alberto will be my back up goalkeeper and hopefully we will not have to rely on him too much!

Defenders :

Alberto Garcia

One of my better  players and has played alot of games in these divisons, a former Celta B player should add some experience and a bit of quality. He will be first choice and should do a decent job I hope! Also quite flexiable as he can play in three or four position which will be vital as we have a tiny squad.

Jacobo

My first choice leftback and again from Celta Vigo B has spent three seasons at Coruxo and is entering his fouth but again he looks very solid at this level and should be a valubale team member.

Raul Sanchez

This player began his career at Elche but slipped down the leagues before being finally bought by me! A very tall and reasonably strong centre back he should do well at this level, and for a freebie I cant really complain he is so much better than what we had before, so hopefully he can settle quickly.

Cristian Patino

So he declared for Argentina but is also part French meaning I could sign him! He has played in Scotland for Raith so Scottish fans may have seen him but he is a very decent defender and will be first choice alongside Raul Sanchez.

Quini

Well not much to say! Quini will be our backup right and left back and stats wise he wont be pushing too hard for a start! But flexability is always good so will be on the bench.

Jose Antonio Costas

Costas will be our backup centre back but can also play at right back and at a push can play left back and defensive midfield, so again good flexability and will be a bench player.

Midfield :

Anton

Anton will play in the utility place on my team and brings some good workrate and teamwork with him. His job will be to chase the ball and help support the attack has a good level of fitness.

Gabriele Pacciardi

In my opinion the best player I have signed out of the seven, this Italian has been a regular in the lower Italian leagues and brings a lot to the Coruxo table. Obvious qualities but his major job will be winning back the ball and giving insurance to my attacking players, was so pleased when I got him!!

Borja Aristizabal

He will paly as a sort of defensive playmaker I dont know why but so far he has produced some excellent displays so am just keeping it as that for now! Started at Rayo another who fell down the divisions and I picked him for nothing, again alot better than we have had before.

Manu

The attacking midfield player in my side, so not the greatest but the best I could find and afford. Has played many times in la liga for Malaga he began his career at Real Madrid but didnt make any first team games. He lost his way after Malaga were relegated so I got him for free.

Jonathon Antunez

Next our record appearence maker and record goalscorer! Antunez will be a bench player adding numbers to the cause he has made 110 apps, scoring 45 goals!

Forwards :

Javi Zurbano

Well our giant 6’4» striker brings alot to the team, decent finishing and great in the air he should hopefully win a few crosses and score a few goals hoping he can forge a great duo with Carlos.

Carlos

Still not sure if this is my best signing! Venezulan born but played in Spain his whole life is a real good goal getter, having scored 131 times in 400 games in the lower divisions. Has also scored a la liga goal for Deportivo and has very good stats.

Santi Domiguez

My final squad player (except a few under 19’s that dont really need a mention) and will be a backup striker to Carlos and Zurbano. Again another player who has made his living in these leagues should provide good competition for my front two!

Thats my squad its very small hence why I had to promote three under 19’s to help fill out the ranks a little, but am quite pleased on how I did! Our pre-season went very well winning a few games but also playing some really good football, which isnt the easiest in these leagues!

We beat a couple of sides of our standard which was pleasing and I created a youtube account to help share the highlights of my games. I picked the game against Antequera as we were one down and had missed a penalty before a storming second half come back!

Thats it and so the season begins, should be very interesting as am not sure where I will end up! Hopefully we can start well and win some games but am really pleased with the players and my formation. Until next time happy reading!
