Bury FC: Two months into Season 2

Published on

Hi everyone, i am happy to bring you another chapter of this Bury FC story. As you know, we won the league 2 title last season and I was hoping for another promotion this season also. Lets see how the season started off.

Before I start, I’d like to give you some interesting information. There was only one impressive player from the youth intake this season. His name is Neil Morris. I am actually suprised that we managed to bring someone through the youth intake. His physical attributes are pretty good already! He is only 16years old and could turn into a good right back.

Now on to the football.

Below is our media prediction:

Here is our first results in League 1.

The season got off to a bad start in a 1-0 defeat against Southampton but I came out with a smile on my face as the performance was excellent. However we lost our next game also in the League cup 1st round. We then got our first point of the season vs Doncaster. I was already feeling the pressure of not winning in my first 3 games :-( However we then went on a 4 match winning run including a great win against Port Vale in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy North 1st round. However that ended after a bore draw vs Millwall which we should have won. We then got back to winning ways against Brentford. Unfortunately we went on another poor run of 3 straight draws. All which we should have won if it wasn’t for poor finishing.

OVERALL

Overall, I fell the team is gelling together and the last few performances have showed me we are capable of gaining promotion. We lack a quality goalscorer. Jason Euell & Davide Petrucci have been a flop up to now, however the latter keeps suffering injury problems. Jason Euell seems to go through on goal, but then he feels the need to smash the ball over! :-( However I am filled with confidence defensively as we have 5 clean sheets out of 13 and a total of 9 goals conceded. It’s just the attacking we need to fix!

Best Signings

The best signing has to be 17 year old striker Marko Maletic who is on loan from Manchester City. He has performed above all expectations and he is our second top scorer with 3 goals. His overall game play impresses me most!

Kevin Long is also in this category. He is very comfortable on the ball and fills me with confidence.

So the current league table looks like:

Preston lead the table and we are in 7th place. Hopefully we will improve on that!

Current player ratings

Andy Bishop leads the way simply because of his goals but most were from penalties lol. Kevin Long, Sam Sodge, Dennis Cagara are all in the top 6, all part of my defence.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this particular mixed update. I hope to post next time with a lot of improvements! Take care untill next time!
