Hi everyone, lets continue this exciting Bury story and see if there was any improvements in September.
Before I start I signed a player on a free transfer, called Ali Fuseini who plays in ‘AMC’ role of midfield. He is young and could improve. His career started off in England and has been in England untill Milwall released him. He has League 1 experience. If he is a flop then the good thing is we dont lose out and we make money! :-)
Anyway, lets start:
Our first game of the month was against mid-table club Shrewsbury. Our form wasnt too great and Shrewsbury could take advantage of that. Unfortunately our defence carried on leaking goals. We let lead slip away from us twice, the last goal which was scored in the 88th minute. Our poor form continued.
Northampton vs Bury
Then we faced a tricky away trip against top 5 candidates Northampton. Surely we couldn’t drop any more points?
Well we won! But it wasn’t easy, we took an early lead with Rhys Murphy getting on the scoresheet. We were underpressure for the whole game, and with Connor Henderson & Rhys Murphy getting forced off due to injuries we were very vulnerable. Manu eased our nerves with a well placed finish in the 86th minute. Luckily after the game there was no message in my inbox about the injuries in that game.
Bury vs Oxford
We then faced Oxford which I regarded as a difficult game. They were top of the league and full of confidence. The got an early lead and I thought we were going to get thrashed. But then my boys came back quiet easily with 3 goals. It seemed an easier game than the previous league game.
Our next two games were won also, Danny Carlton seems to be our most prolific striker this season, he scored a double in both of the games along with one in the last game (vs Oxford)
Our results have massively improved and the man to thank for that is Danny Carlton for his goals!
