Bury FC: Pre-season 15/16

Hi everyone! Today will be the start of my third season in the Premier League! We have been in the top half of the division in our first two seasons, lets see if we can improve on the 5th place achieved last season.

Fans Player Of The Year

I think we all knew who would win this award, Emmanuel Adebayor.

Start Of Season Expectations

Well, the board have always given me enough money to play with and it continued like that this season also. They wanted a top half finish at least, but I would be very dissapointed if we didn’t achieve European football next season. This should be enough for me to improve the GK, CB, LB, LW, and possibly the CF position.

Transfers Out

Like Darren advised in his Part 1 post, I analysed my squad and sold the players that I would make good money on at this stage, and free up the wage bill also. So, a massive £26.5m was made on outgoings! The best thing about this is that it didn’t affect the first team at all. For example, Charlie Adam was at the age of 30 and after signing him on a free transfer 18months before, it was a good sum for him. Same for Anichebe, only made one start in his debut season for the club, and we made £4.7m! The only player that will be missed is Jamie O’hara. O’hara was one of the wage eaters, as he had the stupid, ‘match highest earner’ clause in his contract. This lead to his contract increasing from 8k to 55k! He was also signed on a free 2 seasons ago and 7m was a too good of an offer to refuse considering his age is 28.

Transfers In

Please ignore Craig Eastmond and Paddy Kenny. They were signed for the minimum 8 payers trained in England rule. Armendariz, Olaizola, Gonzalez Garcia were signed as prospects, so ignore these guys also. Almost 35m was spent on transfers, but think of it this way, we recieved 27m in our outgoings so, we only spent 8m out of our back pockets, and this improved the team significantly! :D We signed 5 first team players. Lets see who they are.

Eduardo — goalkeeper

This position was the hardest for me to improve! Hense why it was the last transfer. I think I did alright, Eduardo seems a pretty good goalkeeper and should do well for around 2 seasons.

Mathias Pedersen — CB

Welcome to the club, new central defender, Mathias Pedersen! Now we have two Pedersen’s at the club :D He has all the attributes a good defender needs and with room for improvement. Heading, Marking, Tackling, Positioning, Bravery, Pace, Strength! He also has a bonus attribute of passing which is very high indeed! I have to say he fills me with confidence after his preformances in pre-season and he only cost 5.75m! :D

Gino Kusters — LB/RB

Hector Alvarez was probably our weakest defender last season, so no doubt a better LB was needed. He cost me 12m, but I don’t mind that as he is only 18 and will be at the club for a very, very long time!

Pedro — LW

Well we all know who this guy is! Pedro was signed on a free transfer after his contract ran out with Barcelona, he was too good of a player to miss out on. The team also needs experience on the pitch and Pedro will provide this.

Lucas Carrera — CF

Lastly, my striker with bags of potential. He has excellent Technical attributes, but terrible mental attributes :( One of the most attribute he lacks in, is Composure, and I only realised this after I signed him. He cost me 12.5m and I’m willing to give him this season for him to settle. Then, the season after, if he plays rubbish, he will be sold.

Pre-Season

Pre season was succesful, winning all the games apart from 1.

Since this post is quiet short, I will show you some other thing about the ‘inside’ of the club.

Squad List

Finances

Fnances are quiet good, in our first season in the Premier League, we made 15m profit! Last season we made a 12k profit (not a lot, I know) and this season I’m hoping to make some profit. We have European football this season which should help.

Traning

As you can see, training is very good. Every category is 4 stars apart from one (GK Handling). One thing we could improve on is our training facilities.
