Basingstoke: August and September 2009

Published on

Alright, It’s time to kick off the campaign with Basingstoke Town. I don’t have a real starting XI yet but I’ll let the first few games form the team all down to form+ability. A few points more or less in any attributes doesn’t really make that much difference as every playing has their good days and bad. I’ll let their performances on the pitch do the talking and when they dip in form I’ll try to let other players get their chances instead. Of course there will be some massive rotation in the beginning down to fitness issues, but that’s expected and hopefully it won’t hurt the performances too much.

August

Pretty good start ey?  It really is! I’m very happy with the displays this early on. Chelmsford, Maidenhead and Worcester are tough teams in the league.

On-loan striker Fitchett is soaring after his first month and has scored an unexpected 7 goals in 5 outings.

Another Player that has banged in goals is my attacking midfielder Stephen Laidler. One of the few players that was here from the beginning. Doesn’t have the most impressive attributes but is enjoying his role as trequartista.

September

Continuing our great form! We’ve only two draws as black spots in our protocol as of yet. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season. We have a new on-loan player in the shape of Bignall. Thanks to our big brothers Reading we have the opportunity to loan their youngsters and so I have loaned two strikers from them and one of them is this pacey englishman. The other is Bulgarian Vasilev who also scored this month. Unfortunately Bignall is only here on a 3 month basis. I’ve filled my quotea of 2 long-term loans. (Vasilev and Fitchell)

Here’s the league table

Chelmsford is also on a good streak and that draw against them has proven important.

Welcome back when the next post has arrived!
