Ana – FM 2011: F.C.A.K, Season Eight

Hello everyone!

I am back again and have just finished my eighth season in my quest to win every champions league title on every continant. Things are not going that well! As you may have read I am currently in the first division of South African football and a million miles for winning any form of champions league silverware.

But lets press on regardless and I will bring my whole season to you now, hope you enjoy! :)

Transfers In and Out, First Transfer Window

My squad last season wasnt too bad but I needed to change it, get the players I need and sell the players who underperformed last season. These names will mean nothing to you as 90% are regenerated but the biggest blow was losing Phiri to Swallows.

He was a great poacher but we did get a good sum of money for him and I feel I have really strengthend my side I will pick out the best player for you now :

Jonathon Maluleke

So he was a freebie from Durban Stars who has an excellent strike record at this level, Faba is also a very good player from Kaizer Chiefs and I managed to get two former Ajax Cape Town players who all could play in the South African premier league.

Results Halfway Mark

So we have had a fantastic first half of the season, its a bit annoying playing each team four times! We began the season with a 7-2 win and confidence has flowed since then we managed to put 14 goals past Witbank Spurs in two games who have found their promotion to this league a real struggle.

A couple of away defeats but our home form is outstanding.

Second Transfer Window

Sibusiso Paulse

I made only one new signing, this defender on a free transfer and again he was signed from a premier league side. He will be my new starter at the heart of my defence.

Final League Games

What a season! My team were brilliant, infact better than that! We were simply too good as we ran away with the league title and into the playoff’s. Yes, we won the league but still no promotion we must play a team called WP United who won the other first divison league and I believe the winner gets promotion.

If we lose we go into another round of playoff games, thats what I have gathered so far!

Player Ratings

My front two were amazing, they both play of each other really well. I have Maluleke as a trequarista and Faba as a poacher and they have been a deadly duo for me this season! Chabalala was brilliant also on my right wing, in scoring goals and creating lots of chances for my team but was just delighted with every one of my players.

1st Division Playoff, First Leg

So WP United were a very good side, I believe that they were relegated for the premier league last season so proved to be a stern test for my team. I am not sure if away goals count but we manged to take a slender advantage after a double from Maluleke.

1st Divison Playoff, Second Leg

I hate playoff’s, they are really annoying me on this game! Last FM I couldnt win penalty shootouts now playoffs are taking over. We played well infact we were the better team by miles, we just couldnt find a goal and they were clinical when they had their chances.

All is not over as we are in another round of playoff games so we still have a chance of getting promotion, from the more difficult route we will play Black Leopards in the semi final.

OMG! We managed to throw a three goal lead away at home then in an awful display away from home we lost by two goals to one! I am cursed in the playoff’s they hate me and I hate them! My luck has to change in them soon.

It was really bitter sweet end as we just dominated the league at times we were just destroying sides and scoring goals for fun. Then in the crucial end of season games my team just froze and we managed to lose both shots at promotion and we are still in the first division!

I will carry on regardless as I know my team is good enough to win promotion we just need some luck! Thats it for this post and I am afraid we are still in division one. Our promotion dreams have gone this season but we will be back better and stronger this season! I am quite enjoying managing in South Africa! So have opted to stay at F.C.A.K for the foreseeable future but am getting linked to some jobs now which is nice.
