FM13 Wonderkids to watch – Esteban Andrada

FM 2013 wonderkids

written by Darren Smith

With FM13 just around the corner I thought we should start looking at possible talent for the new game. Every year unearths a player we have never heard of and so, so many hidden gems. Well this year I want to second guess Sports Interactive, creating some real life profiles of hotly tipped wonderkids SI surely can’t ignore. This will be a continuous series of profiles for FM13 wonderkids, I have five in mind so far but will not be taking any recommendations, its just  a small series of players to look out for come FM13’s release, hopefully this will help us all get excited about the new game.

Esteban Andrada

Club: Club Atletico Lanus

Position: GK

Age: 21

Nationality: Argentine

International app: Member of the Argentine senior squad

Interested clubs: Barcelona

Video reel (this kid looks incredible after the first 2 minutes)

Andrada has barely featured in the Argentine top flight but he has broken into the national side. This wonderkid kept 8 clean sheets from 9 in the South American U20 Championships. Andrada carried this form into the under 20’s World Cup saving two penalties in a quarter-final shoot-out for Argentina against Portugal.

Such performances have seen him introduced to the Argentina senior side as third choice goalkeeper…but if Andrada’s performances at under 20 level are anything to go by, it won’t be long before this kid is number one for both club and country. Esteban has brilliant aerial ability and from what I’ve seen positioning that can’t be taught, a player with maturity beyond his years must be looked at for FM13. SI did offer this kid good potential for FM 2012 but he isn’t visible unless you have the Argentine leagues loaded, therefore many gamers will never have had the chance to experience Andrada’s ability, myself included.

This guy looks brillaint, his shot-stopping is excellent. I’ve never seen a keeper hold that many shots! And with us loading Argentina for FM13 he’ll definately show up, hopefully he is highly regarded in the game.

I managed this guy on fm12 and if played every week became brilliant, but it was a lot of effort. I can only see him getting better in fm13.

He is pretty good in this years addition but he is limited due to the PA, I think that alongside his current CA need increasing.

Darren thank you for these profiles, I really hope SI give all these players great potential because they look like they deserve it. I wanted to recommend Alen Halilovic. You don’t have to make him a profile but I just want everyone to remember his name because I think he could be a big player in FM 13.

Yeah he does seem to be highly rated, Sky Sports News just mentioned him the other day as been chased by Real and United.

Take a look at Andreas Cornelius from FC Copenhagen for upcoming FM13 stars. He has come straight from the reserves to replace Dame N’Doye, who btw is the most scoring player in the danish league ever. Cornelius is just 19 years old and 4 months ago, nobody knew who he was. Now he has scored 10 goals in 7 matches. He just made his international debut for Denmark as well. A definite star in the making!

Thanks but we aren’t taking recommendations for FM13 players to watch.

Then remember his name! If his stats and potential are up to date when FM13 comes out, he will be the Yaya Sanogo of FM13. Remember who told you about Cornelius, when you find out how crazy he will be ;)
