FM 2014 Zakaria Bakkali career stats

This FM 2014 Player Profile of Zakaria Bakkali shows a quick, skillful inside forward with great technical attributes. During our test save this kid missed out on 2 seasons of proper game time, so you should expect more than what the screenshots above show. Having said that Bakkali still developed 17 for dribbling, technique, off the ball movement, agility and pace. All those attributes show just how well he can move on the ball and the problems he could cause cutting inside from the left.

£8.5 million isn’t bad considering the kids talent. If you will invest the time in Bakkali’s development the  he’s a must buy.

Not visible with our database I’m afraid. Just for future reference you only need to comment on one post, we’ll always see it in the admin area no matter how old the post is.

what do you mean by “if you will invest the time in Bakkali’s development” what steps do you physically take to develop a player? assign coaching roles?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 18, 2013

You need to be managing his individual training correctly ie switching form quickness to the most appropriate role etc and most importantly managing his game time well. I personally train in weak areas first then generalize to a role like for him inside forward. If he isn’t getting into your first team he needs to be out on loan though.

profile on jese (real madrid) please

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 18, 2013

Already taken a look at him but the future screenshots aren’t good enough so we’ll have to wait until we have some that do him justice.

  • comment avatar Marcie October 18, 2013

I had him in FM 2013. He developed nicely and I bought him for about 1mil at 16. I’ll get him again in the next game along with Bruma who was a beast for me as well.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 19, 2013

He was a great player in FM13. Bruma also looks talented, we just need better future screenshots to profile him.

  • comment avatar ugurcan October 22, 2013

in my game no matter what I do I can’t buy him less than 11.5M € + loads of bonuses.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 22, 2013

What countries and database size did you load, which team are you managing. How much have you been offering, how many times have you negotiated down from what they say is acceptable and have you been doing the ‘suggest’ trasfer or ‘make bid’ option?

      • comment avatar ugurcan October 22, 2013

I have chosen top divisions of England, Germany, Italy and Spain (also Championsip for England), have a large database. I am playing as Everton, and I’m at the start of August (very first season.) In my first bid suggestion I suggested 2.5M € up front and another 2.5M € on next 48 months. Their negotiation was “12.75M up front, 3M € over 12 months, 500k after 50 games, 5k per game for first 10 games, another 500k after 10 International games and 500k after first 10 games.” After two more negotiations I settled the price at 10M + bonuses I mentioned above but instead of 500k now 1M each.

I never used “make bid” option.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith October 22, 2013

You need to be using the ‘make bid’ option, that negotiation was too short to get the best price. Warranted the asking price can’t always be as low as we suggest but it shouldn’t be that high. You will never get as good a price using the suggest option over the make bid option, it takes a lot longer but works best I found. And you do have to keep renegotiating the deal lower.

Also worth mentioning that Bakkali may have flexible ability, meaning he can start the game with different attributes from save to save, not a huge difference but that could also effect the price.

But after testing again myself I too found the fee was higher than we suggested so have adjusted it in the profile. I got them down to £9 million including all bonuses etc after a lot of batering. Thanks

  • comment avatar ugurcan October 22, 2013

thanks for your comments, I didn’t know it would make that much difference to use “make bid” option. also yes, obviously the values you provide might change from save to save.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 22, 2013

It really does, just suggesting a bid will eventually lead to them turning you down and walking away, whereas when you make the bid its via fax so to speak so they will just keep coming back, at some point if you are to get the best price you will have to use ‘make bid’ as the other side will stop the negotiation while using suggest and you then have no option but to ‘make bid.’

The best way of describing it is that suggesting is doing things over the phone where they can hang up at any point. Making the bid is doing it over fax (same as older editions of the game) so they will just keep replying.

Very hard to explain in the written word so hope that makes sense lol :)

How does he miss out on 3 seasons of proper game-time? He misses one at most.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 25, 2013

You’re half right, I was counting the first season as two, when he actually played for Jung and first team in one season. But I do count that season as a lack of first team football, so there’s two in my opinion.

  • comment avatar Conor October 25, 2013

12 league appearances is quite a lot for a 17 year old. Every season thereafter hes a regular.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 25, 2013

He only played 6, the other six were for the Jung team, which is not what I call proper experience actually, not to mention almost all were sub appearances that season (to be fair you cant see that), but as I said, half right.

      • comment avatar Conor November 6, 2013

The Jong team plays in the second tier in Holland. It’s not reserve team football. Anyway, my point is that he gets ample playing time in that screenshot.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith November 6, 2013

And I can see where you are coming from but my point is that I don’t feel he does in two of the season.

Ps I know where the Jong team play, but thanks anyway.

          • comment avatar Darren Smith November 6, 2013

To clarify, all I am saying is he could be better if worked to the max every season, which he wasn’t for those two.

  • comment avatar Jack November 3, 2013

Just wondering, where do we post for screenshots and/or potential wonderkids, it’s just whenever i find a kid with potential i like to come here and check them out but i don’t like posting on a players profile to see if you have actually found them. The kid I want to ask about is Lucas Mugni by the way

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 3, 2013

You can do so here http://footballmanagerstory.com/scout/profile-request/ but we won’t be able to profile any of the players requested for a while, weeks I’d say, there’s just a huge backlog, that is why the page is not easily found at the moment.

As for the player you asked about, he’s decent but not developed enough in my test save.

      • comment avatar Jack November 3, 2013

thanks for the reply, from now on if i find anyone that does actually developed and hasn’t been profiled or has turned out better ill email the page

  • comment avatar Pajo November 9, 2013

Do you think he will be a good forward?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 9, 2013

Depends completely on the role, but I don’t think so, he isn’t good enough finishing.

  • comment avatar Khatri November 12, 2013

Hey there, keep up the good work guys. I just wanted to know why I can’t find these players in my game. Is it because I’ve selected a large database but only one nation (England)? If it’s the database issue, then how do i rectify it?
Also, what’s the database you select?

I’m sorry I’ve inundated you with questions and this may not be the right place but any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 12, 2013

Most of them should show with large database, most certainly this guy does. But there are some that won’t, we load England, Italy, France, Argentina, Brazil and Spain. You can’t make the database large once loaded but you can add and remove countries at the start of a season.

  • comment avatar T.i.g November 18, 2013

I don’t understand how james ward-prowse of Southampton doesn’t have a profile. He looks the next Gerrard or Lampard or Scholes. He is BEAST. People under-rate him and don’t understand he becomes one of the geniuses of FM 14.

  • comment avatar Vlad November 19, 2013

Do you have a profile for Adam Maher from PSV? I manage PSV and he is mproving so much..

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 19, 2013

We want to at some point but need better future screenshots first.

  • comment avatar Retroactive December 6, 2013

I can’t sign him for Boro even though I’ve set aside 15 million for the guy to play as my LW/LIF. I think it’ll have to be Fischer and Depay instead.

  • comment avatar RadicalEd December 10, 2013

Looks like a he’s a bit inferior to julian brand, who is also potentially available for free after 1 year. but still good,

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 10, 2013

Based on the screenshots I’ve seen Brand is inferior to Bakkali but it all comes down to how you see them develop and what you’ve heard from others in game experience.

  • comment avatar matt December 13, 2013

Got gim for 4,1M after the first season , not a bad deal i guess, he wouldnt be playing much at the start of the game anyway

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 13, 2013

That is a great deal IMO, he can really progress from the screenshots above.

  • comment avatar Retroactive December 30, 2013

Bakkali vs Fischer vs Mane vs Brandt? The best among this lot as a LW/LIF in the 4-3-3 control tactic. Already have Gerard D and Markovic for the RW/RIF as Boro roll into the Prem League in my 3rd season.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 30, 2013

They are all quite different players some better physically some more technical and they will all vary from game to game. So it comes down to assessing them all in your game, maybe get scout reports from there.
