FM 2014 Leon Goretzka history

This FM 2014 player profile of Leon Goretzka shows a versatile playmaker with creativity and great passing complimented by good all round ability. Most midfielders are either attacking or defensive orientated, they have set trademarks to their game, but this kid is different. Goretzka has special versatility, just look at the future screenshots above.  In 2020 this kid has great passing, technique and creative skills. Then his key defensive and attacking attributes are around the 14 and above mark.

Real Madrid couldn’t resist the young German in 2016, they payed £24 million and Goretzka performed well throughout his career in Spain. I think he’s a great signing, but the £41.5 million Schalke request at the start of the game shows just how much work SI need to do on the realism of asking prices…this will drop significantly as the game goes on.

Best CM talent in the game! (maybe Tielemans becomes better, I haven’t seen a future SS of him yet).
But Goretzka is just the perfect CM, he reminds me of Yaya Touré.

Yeah he really is the complete MC, I know some gamers get hung up on high attributes needing to be 17 plus, but when a midfielder is so well rounded there are exceptions.

@Darren Can you take a look at Alessio Romagnoli and Tin Jedvaj from AS Roma and Nicola Leali from Juventus…

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 21, 2013

The first two haven’t developed enough in our test save (Jedvaj certainly looks capable though) while Leali will get a profile at some point.

The definition of a box-to-box midfielder, Goretzka can do almost everything.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 1, 2013

He is a really versatile player, brilliant utility man while you develop him.

  • comment avatar Nloureiro November 6, 2013

Second coming of Michael Ballack…hopefully he will be more lucky

  • comment avatar Nloureiro November 6, 2013

question: Dennis Praet, Filip Djuricic, Nelson Oliveira, Massimo Bruno, Lisandro Lopez (Centre-Back), Timo Horn, Marco Rojas, Jonathan Williams (Crystal Palace), Kara, Maximilian Mayer, Neal Maupay….

Sorry, that’s a lot of people I am asking about but will any of them have a profile?

    Thanks in advance

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 6, 2013

Bruno and Mayer will at some point, the rest we need better screenshots for.

      • comment avatar Nloureiro November 6, 2013

And do you think that those two could excel at one of England’s top five? I mean six, forgot Liverpool!

        • comment avatar Darren Smith November 6, 2013

Meyer with good management yes and probably Bruno if used in the right position…would be at least good as a rotation player.

          • comment avatar Nloureiro November 7, 2013

Well, I managed Belgium in the previous game and even had Bruno in my Atletico Madrid save…and he was precisely that…Meyer, always escaped me since I always forgot to sign him as soon as I started a new game. Shame about Bruno though, thought he’d have gotten better.

            Thanks anyways,

And Keep Up the Good Work :D

How about divock origi, john jairo ruiz, and souahilo meite? Those three are from Lille

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 19, 2014

None have done well in any of my saves.

  • comment avatar Jack Tindall January 25, 2014

Would I be wasting him simply playing him as a ball winning midfielder? He looks an amazing talent! Do you have a rough asking price after a year? I’ve trawled the website the past week or so, never seen anything as comprehensive it’s absolutely brilliant!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 25, 2014

Thanks Jack. As for playing him as BWM well I guess he is a little wasted there but at the same time it depends on your team, if you have better players for other positions then its fine to try him in that role. Afraid I don’t have an asking price after a year, it would vary from save to save but I haven’t looked at that TBH so not sure.

  • comment avatar Jack Tindall January 25, 2014

Cheers mate, think he’d be wasted. Pair him with Romero in the middle and let him do what he wants while Romero tidies up is what I’ll do

  • comment avatar Samuel lee February 15, 2014

hi, he doesnt show interest in my mancity? any way that i can get him?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 15, 2014

If he’s not interested in moving there is very little you can do other than wait and try to unsettle him through the media.

I am in the 2017/2018 season (He’s a few weeks away from turning 23), bought him for Dortmund (From Schalke) after a chase that lasted a year with him running down his contract for £23m. Worth every penny I paid for him: Easily the best and most complete CM in the game and the best BBM in the game as well. No one comes close to having this many good stats. Oh, and in my game he has many better stats than in the pic above.
