This FM 2014 Player Profile of James Ward-Prowse shows one of the best English prospects in FM14, he’s a true magician. Whether he’s played as deep lying playmaker or advanced playmaker is your choice. This wonderkid is great in both roles, but I prefer to get the best from his dribbling and direct attacking talent in the advanced playmaker role. Not to mention some awesome physical attributes including brilliant balance help him navigate through challenges…this kid was born to carry the ball.

During AFCALFC’s test save Ward-Prowse hit top form during 2017 with 16 assists. And his attributes are outstanding, that passing ability and set piece prowess could set any league alight. £19 million seems like a lot but this kid is very talented and he’s well worth the outlay.

http://i42.tinypic.com/2m4q4jt.png <– carees stats, look at his assists in 2017-2018

  • comment avatar Alex November 20, 2013

Yes, this is confirmed. In my save, with a little playing time he will develop by the age of 20 into a first team player. Nicely done Darren.

  • comment avatar Jon December 11, 2013

Using him on a Saints file. Already closing in on those attributes and has 18 assists so far although that’s to go with 32 appearances in season 1. Season’s yet to finish too.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 11, 2013

Sounds like he is going strong then.

  • comment avatar Kav (@KavMacc10) December 16, 2013

I can’t get Saints to drop their £32M valuation of him. Probably because I’m Liverpool. :/

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 16, 2013

Even if you are Liverpool that is a bit strange, unless you are more than a three weeks into the game of course, then asking prices can vary.

  • comment avatar saint December 22, 2013

darren could you help me with this one ? in my save with southampton prowse is unhappy.
Reason- because i refused to sell him to psg for 30M and now i have chelsea giving me 50M should i sell him or kepp him ? because he is unhappy and trasfered listed and i can change that due to his request.should i wait until i is possibel? or sell? and besides that psg wants wanyama and pays 40M for him. what should i do accept refuse both offers ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 22, 2013

If there are any players available of the same standard cheaper than the money you’ll get for those two then sell them. If not then don’t sell them.

  • comment avatar saint December 22, 2013

if i sold one of them i dont know witch players to sign
probably will check lucas romero( if its is name ), verrati maybe, and i could also try powell

i use a tatic with 3 mc and i have in my team

    holtby- adv plmk
    kiyotake- box to box
    pugliese- ball winning
    hughes – box to box
    capezzi – adv plmk

with this what is your opinion…. prowse im thinking a lot because 50M is a lot but he is one of a kind like wanyama =/

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 22, 2013

I have already answered your question. I can’t really do any more than that with the information at hand. I can not see the quality of those players in your game so I can’t possibly have an opinion on it.

  • comment avatar saint December 22, 2013

    ok ty

  • comment avatar Ian December 23, 2013

Veratti or Ward-Prowse? I’m Spurs, really need a deep lying playmaker and i’ve been offered both, but can only afford one…

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 24, 2013

I’d go with Verratti for that role.

  • comment avatar DcK January 2, 2014

I would advise to buy this players ALWAYS, Forget about the values, just put him to play and he will always be playing average 7+ while carrying your team

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 2, 2014

He is a really really good player.

  • comment avatar Frazer January 26, 2014

Bought him for 25 mil in my second season has formed a strong partnership with chalobah and Hughes in my Chelsea side and with the England team who since their inclusion won euro 2016 although chalobah was in the England team he wasn’t actually playing with Hughes and prowess as he as still out on loan I deploy him as a plain attack minded centre mid as his all round stats allow him to control midfield and he is a amazingly consistent performer

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 27, 2014

Sounds like the England team will have a solid spine for years to come in your save.

  • comment avatar elgepi March 20, 2014

Probably the best player i’ve had on this FM, and that on 3 different saves, always in different roles (AP, IF and CM).
