This FM 2014 player profile of Gedion Zelalem shows a very talented and very young midfielder, lots of potential in this kid. Arsenal are unwilling to let him go at the start of the game but 5 million pounds will persuade them, but the kid doesn’t really want to leave so you might have to bide your time on this one.

In my test save he made very good progress despite not getting the amount of first team football he might have deserved. He was sold to Manchester United, then loaned out to Germany for a couple of seasons, then kept on the bench for a whole season before being sold to Chelsea for a solid 14.5 million. The Blues spent all that cash on him but kept him on the bench, a real shame. His only happy season was at PSV on loan and the kid proved his worth by contributing 3 goals and 7 assists.

His attributes at the age of 23 are very good considering that career path, solid technique and passing, good mental attributes plus very good acceleration and stamina. His potential would surely take this kid beyond that with good human management, I am willing to bet on that.

only 64 games in 7 years, I’d say he could be brilliant if nurtured correctly!
surprising he even developed that much with so little playing time.

My thoughts exactly, the lad seemed to progress very well under adverse circumstances.

    is he better than doria??

    • comment avatar Niclas93 November 1, 2013

They are not planting the same position, so its difficult to say.

      • comment avatar Johnny Karp November 1, 2013

Niclas is right, can’t compare a centre back to a midfielder.

Are you going to do a profile on Gnabry?

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp November 2, 2013

Not at the moment, he hasn’t developed well in my current test save. But I’ll start another test save next week and I will surely check him out again.

  • comment avatar LmFaO November 3, 2013

@Johnny Will you check out Dan Crowley from Arsenal?

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp November 3, 2013

Already have, not great in my test save. But I’ll get a new test save and check him again, if he turns out good I’ll surely profile him, I’m an Arsenal fan ;)

Looks good but that future screen shot can be the fruit of some work in the Editor for all I know.

I dont think thats edited.. Im in the third season, he’s 18 years old and his stats are quite good…

can i have zelalem face on FM..cuz i download latest change cut out megapack don’t included zelalem face…tq

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp November 6, 2013

If it’s not in the megapack you can add the face yourself but that is fairly complicated to do. I think the best thing to do would be to make a request at Sortitoutsi to include him in the next megapack update.

I realise this is just a test save with no human management, but you can get Zelalem with stats already over this by time he’s 18/19, it takes work, but with the right tutor (Cazorla) and a couple of games at the end of the first season he should be in a loan-able state and when he returns he will look like they have his stats above at just 18. I can’t wait to see how good he can be at 23! Anyway hope this encourages at least a few of you to take a punt on the lad, keep up the good work on the player profiles!!!

I surely agree, the kid has great potential and he can become a lot better than this under the right guidance.

  • comment avatar gandrasch March 3, 2014

Who would be a good tutor for him? Arteta?

Also what about Crowley? Saw some fantastic SS of him.

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp March 3, 2014

Yes, Arteta should do a fine job at that. As for Crowley, he has potential but hasn’t managed to develop greatly in my test saves so far.

  • comment avatar gandrasch March 3, 2014

Sorry, don’t know how to reply under this post :/

But I got a screenshot from Crowley from another forum (asked there) and he doesn’t look so bad or is this bad? For AI.
I will train him myself and send you some screenshots :)
