gabriel barbosa fm 2014 career stats

This FM 2014 player profile of Gabriel Barbosa shows a tremendous Brazilian talent, promising at the age of 16 and quite impressive a few years later. You can snap him up from Santos for 2.9 million at the start of the game and I think that would be a sound investment as his value at the age of 23 went up to 16.5 million in my save.

However, my test save didn’t bring about the best of careers for this kid, he got sold all over the place, from Barcelona to Italy, then Ukraine, then back to Italy and finally to AS Monaco. The kid always delivered goals though and even managed to bag 4 in 4 appearances for the Brazil national team, adding to the 22 in 37 apps for the Under 20 team.

His attributes at the age of 23 are quite impressive considering that at such an age he can still be developed. He has good finishing, solid mental attributes, plus very good speed and agility along with decent strength as well. This kid could be the poacher that you need but he can also make a solid complete forward.

Any idea how Neilton from santos turns out?

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp October 30, 2013

Can’t check him out at the moment as I’m away from home and don’t have the game with me.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 30, 2013

Not done too great in my test save TBH, if that is AI management or his actual ability I’m not sure.

Juan Carlos Chera – is he on the game? If so how does he turn out?

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp October 31, 2013

I am away and don’t have the game with me, I’ll try to have a look when I get back next week.

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp November 5, 2013

Chera is not available in my save.

just a heads up, you know the way you have the CA and PA hidden and then you can choose to look at it if you like, well on your main home page where all the latest player profiles are you can actually see the flexible potential before you click into the player. You might want to fix that! anyway love the site.

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp November 1, 2013

Thanks for the heads up, it’s fixed now.

Best striker i ever had in all fm’s
regularly scores 30+ goals per season
Had him at real sociedad and won the goalscorer awards 5 times straight beating messi and ronaldo..

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp November 24, 2013

Awesome, beating Messi and Ronaldo in the Spanish League is outstanding.

Roughly how much does it cost to buy out his agent’s share of 40%? Thanks.

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp December 14, 2013

The agent wanted 2.1 million in my game.

  • comment avatar Edgel December 14, 2013

Hi Johnny, any way I can submit a screenshot? I’ve uncovered a few gems in mu Man United save. I had Gabriel Barbosa too, his stats turned out a bit better than what you have. Mental attributes were outstanding. Sold him to Bayern for 50 mil.

  • comment avatar Samycfc1 December 17, 2013

can u show the shape of the player when doing screenshots please?

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp December 17, 2013

I don’t think I understand exactly what you mean, which screen is that?

  • comment avatar Samycfc1 December 17, 2013

when u click on attributes beside the bit that says player and it comes up a shape, just gives a better understanding of the players attributes

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp December 18, 2013

Yeah, I guess we could do that from now on, replacing the profile overview screen with the attributes screen.

      • comment avatar Darren Smith December 18, 2013

We have always avoided that as I feel that screen is too wide. But if it is not wider in the new game then there is no reason why we can’t change. I know you can still enlarge the images anyway, but its how I prefer it, so the readers don’t have to enlarge every screenshot to see the details properly which is what would have been needed in previous games had we used the attribute screen.

        • comment avatar Johnny Karp December 18, 2013

          It is wider unfortunately.

          • comment avatar Darren Smith December 18, 2013

I thought it might be wider, personally I feel its better to have visible screenshots on the site but thats maybe a biased opinion as I don’t use that graph that was mentioned…personally I’d prefer to stay as we are and feel that would benefit the majority, but I might be wrong.

    Dem eyebrows tho…

Actually, though you can buy Barbosa right away in your first year as manager. he won’t join your team until your second year as manager because of the rule in Brazil where player from Brazil must at least 18 years old (before January probably) to play outside Brazil.
I manage Lazio and I bought him from Santos for $2.6 M (Dollar, not Euro) to replace Klose that already decline (and later retired at that season) in my second year as Manager. I usually put him in substitute for first half of season and later put him in first team in the last half of the season because Klose got injured for 4-5 months.
He was doing okay in his first year in my team , but somehow he become something really different in his second year in my team because he made 23 goals and 5 assists from 33 apps. He also made 14 goals in UEFA Champions League and got the Golden Boot for UEFA Champions League in his 2nd year in my team.
so from my experience, don’t try to hope something from him in his first year in your team (if you bought him in your 2nd year as manager).Just let him taste the sweet and sour as first team player and most likely you won’t be disappointed with him

Barbosa in my pic is still at 19 years old, so that means he still can improve a lot in the future.
Also, From his attribute, I’m sure people can tell that he is a natural poacher. So I usually use him as Poacher and rarely use him as Advanced Forward or Complete Forward.

As Will said you can’t get him right away, he is available for 14/15 season. Barbosa is great in most of my saves. I tend to develop him as AMR and play as IF-Attack in the future. Later in the game he becomes one of the best players in the world. True gem.
