FM 2014 Diego Reyes career stats

This FM 2014 Player Profile of Diego Reyes shows a brilliant anchor man, he can pass as well as he tackles and holds brilliant leadership qualities. Like Roy Keane, Reyes develops excellent defensive skills but can also control the ball and pass as well. His mental attributes are fantastic, showing off a great knowledge of the game and its all capped off with a very impressive physique.

During our test save Reyes grew into one of the worlds best, performing week in week out for Porto and Juventus. He may be tough to buy due to just signing for the Portuguese giants, around £20 million is required to prize Reyes away . If you need someone to sit in front of the back four, who is reliable, quick and a leader, then look no further.

Great player, gonna shortlist him, could be a potential buy. I’m after a striker in the 2nd season who could make an impact straight away, any recommendations?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 23, 2013

What sort of striker you need, remember this year its all about the right players in the right roles.

I’d start mentioning Gomis from Lyon may be on a free second season and Benteke would be a coup and may be transfer listed.

Hey, try Alfred Duncan, Marco Benassi and Pedro Obiang.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 24, 2013

We have profiled Alfred and just need to publish, he’s in the waiting list…will check the other two.

This kid looks amazing. I’ll be definitely trying him as DM behind Ramsey or Wilshere.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 29, 2013

That sounds like a deadly trio.

Had him on FM13 and was an absolute beast, will definitely be signing him on this one as well

I remember him from FM13 too, really strong, versatile unit.

Diego Reyes or Imbula for Defensive Midfielder?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 11, 2013

Very close call really, I’d probably prefer Reyes but that’s because he suits my tactics, depends on what you need really.

hi lads, great page!! quick question bought lars bender in my arsenal save, if I bought diego reyes would he be good enough to push bender out? also replacement needed for suarez, pref a good false nine?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 22, 2013

I certainly think he could. The best way to find a good F9 would be to do a filtered search under the attributes that are most important if you can’t find anyone in our lists.

Did anyone try to play him as a central defender?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 6, 2013

Can’t say I have, sure he’d work but feel you might be missing out on some of his strengths.

Worked well whenever I used him at CB. Just after selling him for £45m to AC Milan in my Porto game. Summer of 2016.

I need a half-back to play in a possession based system. Would Reyes be good?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 1, 2014

I’d say he could do that role yes, but would take some retraining.

  • comment avatar InternalServerError May 15, 2014

Solid DM, he has great positioning, anticipation and tackling. I managed to keep him in FCP but it was not easy the amount of clubs after him are just too much, crazy money has been offered but would rather keep him. Its very difficult to find similar type of player.

  • comment avatar TheAsianGuy June 9, 2014

I found that he performs better as a BPD every save I’ve been through. His top-notched jumping reach, positioning, concentration and decision makes him a beast.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 10, 2014

Yeah he could perform very well in that role, I guess it depends on the tactic style also.

  • comment avatar Diavolo1992 June 15, 2014

He reminds me on martinez transfer. He can play in midfield and defence…for 20M you get complete midfielder and defender. Can you ask for more? My choise for anchor along with lucas silva.

  • comment avatar Joe Marshall June 30, 2014

Do you think he could play good in a half back role? Finding it very hard to get someone to perform in this role, would appreciate suggestions if you know them as well
