This FM 2013 player profile of Samuel Umtiti shows a brilliant wonderkid, a player of immense talent and excellent physique. At the age of 18 he can already make a decent signing for most top-flight sides and that’s not something you can encounter very often. He already has excellent mental attributes at that young age and I’d suggest signing him right away, the only drawback being the asking price, which is 15 million pounds. Not too much though for a player of such quality and with no real weaknesses.

He made steady progress in my test save while remaining at Lyon until 2019, his mental attributes improved even further, added a bit of speed and strength plus very good defending skills (marking, tackling, heading). He also has decent passing, first touch and technique, skills that make him a good candidate for a ball playing defender role. As a bonus, he can also be employed as a left back. So, if you need a good left-footed defender this kid should definitely be on your shortlist.

Best buy rating: 10/10

Hey Johnny, I’m currently playing an Everton save and was wondering what your thoughts were on Andi Weimann, Remy Cabella, and John Stones on the new patch

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp March 19, 2013

Stones is very good, his profile is due to be published soon. I will check out the other two.

You can get him for 10M not 15M

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp March 19, 2013

I wasn’t able to get him for less than 15 at the very start of the game. But good for you if you can get him for less.

He is too small for a centre back and cant jump. he is too lame in attack for a left back. whats this hype?

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp March 19, 2013

He is mainly a centre back, not a left back. Secondly, a centre back doesn’t have to be 6’5” to be good, take Puyol or Fabio Cannavaro for instance.

Same person that called Ben Arfa rubbish after reading the profile in which he scored more goals than Messi one season, I wouldn’t pay too much attention, seems more like a trouble courser than someone actually wanting to have a debate or discuss players IMO.

come on dude. ben arfa is weak in many areas of the game. you can’t win everything with dribbling. he didn’t work or me and that is it.

Just look at the attributes and career history, they don’t lye…you obviously weren’t using him right then. I never said he can do everything and to suggest dribbling is all he’s got is very short sighted, you may want to check the attributes again.

My suggestion making it to the scouting database. This is my proudest day!

You should profile Varane – I have him at Arsenal and he has some ridiculous stats in his early twenties

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp March 20, 2013

We should profile a lot of players, unfortunately the day has only 24 hours and I haven’t found a way to change that. However, Varane is on our list and will have a profile sooner or later.

1 an hour. Factor in sleep, weekends off? That’s what 80 profiles a week.

You’re forgetting that I have a full time job :) (Darren as well).

Yeah, 10 hour days and every other Saturday to boot…ow and full time wives, they take some maintenance if you don’t want a divorce lol ;)

Best defender in this year’s game since the update imo. He becomes an absolute god with human management, I have him on my Arsenal save and he’s my best defender already in the first season!
