This FM 2013 player profile of Nicolas Nkoulou shows an absolute beats. Nkoulou can play centre back or be adapted to a defensive midfield role. Possessing great marking, tackling and strength attributes mean most opponents will struggle against this unit, and his incredible mental attributes make him one of the best stoppers in FM13. £18.5 million is a lot, but Nkoulou is one of the best defensive stars FM has to offer.

Best buy rating: 9/10

If he was 15 million or below, he’s easily a 10 for me. His mental attributes are world-class.

I agree, the 9/10 rating was one I pondered, wondering if it was too high considering the asking price but his mental attributes grow to point few players could boast.

Great player! Giving Yaya Banana a try right now though (such a funny name XD)

Hey I have some un-related questions for you Darren:

In my 2nd season, Wilshere, Oscar, and Honda are all on the Transfer Market listed at 15.75, 13.75, and 9.00 million pounds respectively. I am wondering who you think is better overall and who would be a better choice as one who can rotate both mid and attacking-mid positions (2 different answers I am assuming!)

Lastly, what do you think about Viktor Fischer?

    Thanks!
    Keep on keeping on!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 12, 2012

I’d go with Wilshere hands down. Fischer looks talented, not really seen his full development yet though.

I think to be a truly dominant centre back he may need some better stats in juping and heading. other than that though he looks like an animal that has amazing mental stats too

I disagree, I have Jones and Papadopoulos with similar attributes in those areas and they are untouchable.

Damn I remember this guy from 2010 and he was solid then. He’s even better now haha.
Can I ask about profiles for Caulker and Hanley(Blackburn) – both CB’s or any british CB’s really. I want someone to partner Clarke and Jones is too expensive.
Also thanks for profiling De Bruyne. I’m sure you were going go anyway but…

We will look into English CB’s but as yet don’t have good enough future screenshots for those two you mentioned.

I’m probably going to start a Tottenham save soon, I’ll see if I can get Caulker some game time & see how he develops.

What an absolute tank. Don’t like his height and jumping for a CB though but he looks like an excellent Anchor man.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 14, 2012

He is very sturdy, I personally have evolved from always demanding a tall CB with great heading and jumping but I know this guys will be a no no for many who still look for those traits. I like to have one more technically talented and one with the jumping and heading etc.

Yeah and he’s very versatile too, so invaluable in that sense.
