Kyriakos Papadopoulos profile aged 25 in the year 2017

Kyriakos Papadopoulos career history until 2017

This FM 2013 player profile of Kyriakos Papadopoulos shows one of the most promising wonderkids available. Kyriakos develops incredible attributes in tackling, marking, bravery, strength and balance. Not to mention the screenshots above are only aged 25. Yes his composure, concentration and positioning are too low at the start, but you can see he improves these areas as per the screenshots above. And to finish the argument, just look at those average ratings, take it from someone who has win the quadruple with this guy, he’s the best if you invest your time.

Best buy rating: 10/10

currently have him and zouma as my centerbacks at arsenal ^^

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 6, 2012

They’ll be unstoppable after a few seasons.

  • comment avatar Tijmen Stronks November 6, 2012

On the first sight he looks like the biggest talent on DC, but when you look at his concentration, decisions and positioning, he”l cost you a few goals (I know it, I played with him with my ManUtd save). He makes a lot of mistakes. IMO Phil Jones, Varane and Zouma are bigger talents.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 6, 2012

Maybe but look at there asking prices at the start of the game, I have Jones and Kyriakos at the back and Jones makes the mistakes, not Papadopoulos. I can see what you mean but those attributes (bar concentration) can be improved.

      • comment avatar Alexander Tommos November 6, 2012

Jones moved to Barcelona on my save, where he is great, replaced the aging Puyol very well.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith November 6, 2012

I’m not saying he is bad, just that its unfair to say Papadopoulos is bad in comparison as I have the comparison in my save.

          • comment avatar Alexander Tommos November 6, 2012

I didn’t think you said he was bad, just a little funny information.

And Papadopoulos is a true Greek god (of football :P)

    • comment avatar dpk04 November 14, 2012

he can’t make lot of mistakes ‘coz of his determination which is insane

      • comment avatar Darren Smith November 14, 2012

Determination doesn’t have a big effect on making mistakes, its the concentrating and aggression thats his main issue, but they can be curved with time.

  • comment avatar Gavin November 7, 2012

In FM 2012 I signed him for Man City and he was incredible, made lots of key tackles, headers, and interceptions! Haven’t finished the season but he got 3 MoM which is amazing for a CB and a few goals. He seems to attempt lots of tackle because of his aggresion but always seems to win every tackle because of his insane tackling attribute. So far he hasn’t make any stupid mistake so ignore the guy above, he’s the best CB talent in the game and a must buy!!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 7, 2012

I personally think he’s great too, and that is all from my experience with the player, not just assumptions.

      • comment avatar mersk November 11, 2012

Not able to sign him to Liverpool. Got a bid of £15m accepted, but he’s not willing to discuss contract terms. Kinda weird, since I had no problem obtaining David Alaba. Oh well, I’ll just have to make due with Agger, Skrtel and Coates.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith November 11, 2012

That is a little weird, but he will change his mind I’m sure.

  • comment avatar TimidMonkey November 8, 2012

    Hey Darren,

Only question I have regarding him is how do you go about tempering his aggression? He plays alongside Jones for my United team, amazing combination, only issue is he consistently gets yellow cards and then spends the rest of the game “seeming aggressive”.

I have brought oppossition instructions from Hard tackling to normal to prevent the straight reds, and periodically tell him to calm down in half time team talks, any other tips?

    Cheers Timid

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 9, 2012

I don’t think you can calm his aggression, only way to effect him is if there are some ‘preferred move’ training thats relevant.

  • comment avatar Daniel November 15, 2012

What role do you use him?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 15, 2012

      Limited defender at the moment.

  • comment avatar dpk04 November 25, 2012

can you post the profile of ingo martinez and raphael varane

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 25, 2012

Both are fairly expensive, so will get profiled when other players are out of the way.

  • comment avatar Wilson December 7, 2012

Would It Be Better To Play Him In The Back 3 Consisting Of Neven Subotic , Mats Hummels , And Him

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 7, 2012

Not sure, I don’t use a back three.

  • comment avatar Wilson December 8, 2012

Looks Like I’ll Be Trying A Back 3 Save With A EPL Club Cause Good Young Defenders Require Work Permit And They All Failed . Gino Peruzzi And Romario All Failed Work Permit , Thats Why Its Hard To Build A Long Term Back 4 In EPL

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 8, 2012

Theres still a lot of options, it depends on your budget and timing though. I agree that at the start of the game quality full backs are tough to come across unless you have a top four budget.

  • comment avatar Jack January 1, 2013

He’s brilliant, and even better on my save. Still playing for Schalke, 22 and got better attributes already. I honestly dont know how a 22 year old can have 20 marking and tackling

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 1, 2013

He is brilliant, but better attributes at the age of 22 under cpu management, I’d like to see a screenshot of that…

      • comment avatar Jack February 22, 2013

how do you send screenshots? i signed him jan 2015 now in september

  • comment avatar fahad January 5, 2013

He is great but I think Varane develops to be a much better centre back, he is the rock of my defence for my tottenham squad.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 5, 2013

He is certainly a great centre back, but from personal experience I don’t see how they can come much better than Kyriakos, though I haven’t used Varane so couldn’t say for sure.

  • comment avatar henlaz January 10, 2013

could he work as a defensive midfielder or is he too weak on passing/technique?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 10, 2013

He could yes, but it would take a lot of work on his passing and he’d need to be an anchor man.

  • comment avatar Stelios Greco January 14, 2013

IMO, having seen him play a lot (as I’m Greek as well) I have to say that IRL he is light years ahead of Varane who has never even spent a season in the top fligh of French football. That’s why Real Madrid were interested in signing him this summer along with Zenit, but where put off by his price tag. Anyway, “managerially” speaking, his consistency is astonishing. In my save, he plays for City with An avg rtg of 7,50+!

    • comment avatar Peter Strauch February 14, 2013

I can vouch for this. In my Arsenal save, he’s absolutely insane. He’s averaging above a 7.90 and I’m in March of the 1st season

  • comment avatar Brucey February 17, 2013

He’s just scary, hope he’ll sign for my Totteham!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 17, 2013

      He certainly should I’d imagine.

  • comment avatar Frederik April 20, 2013

I love how fearless he is! When I saw him playing in EC ’12 for Greece, I fell in love with him straight away and searched for him in FM as the first player.. AND MY!; Did he have attributes!!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 20, 2013

Yeah he is awesome, most certainly breaks my top 3 favorite defenders.

  • comment avatar realfan May 23, 2013

You guys talking about how awesome is him with 3 MOM or 7,9 rating. In 2013-2014 Ryan Shawcross made 35 appeareances, with 13 MOM and 8,16 rating…No words, really.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 24, 2013

If you’re going to put a comment arguing something please get full facts together and at least tell us what your point is, are you suggesting Shawcross is better or that Kyriakos isn’t worth signing?

Also, in 2013-14 Shawcross would be 25 yo, at that age Papadopoulos would play season 2016/17 where he is playing with some of the best players in the world hands down, so to get 9 MOM from 33 games compared to Shawcross’ 13 from 35 isn’t bad, (and he fell just 0.24 short of Ryan’s av rating) not to mention he is competing for an award against Messiesque players as opposed to the Huth’s and Crouch’s of the game….no word’s really, bar the ones we’ve had to use to type these comments ;)

  • comment avatar Panos Otto June 20, 2013

Just the best dc in game. i always take him and we age together in the clubs taking champions leagues. One word to describe him is beast , although he has low concentration he can score easily in finals . Mistakes in cup games << MoM in Finals

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 20, 2013

As the profile shows he is top class.

  • comment avatar Enositis July 4, 2013

He’s fantastic!!!I wonder where he’ll end up this summer.
He should be in the premiership that’s for sure!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 4, 2013

Sure is and I had him in the Prem, was untouchable once settled and developed.

  • comment avatar Goh July 10, 2013

Mind doing a profile on Mats Hummels?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 10, 2013

This is our last week of profiling FM13 players and all the posts are done I’m afraid.

  • comment avatar mike136 July 12, 2013

Ha! Just bought him from Shalke to my Villarreal team for 6!! million in 2016. Can’t wait to see how he’ll do in Primera.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 12, 2013

Very, very good purchase at that price.

      • comment avatar mike136 July 15, 2013

3 MOTM perfomances in 1st 5 matches, scoring 2 goals :) Says it all..

  • comment avatar Fábio Reis July 19, 2013

He’s surely a great player, but he’s mental attributes aren’t good at all, composure and concentration mostly. For me the best 2 CB in game are Zouma and Varane. Zouma is simply amazing, on my save, in the 1st and 2nd season, the average was on 7.50+, 3rd season – 8.01 and on the begining of 4rt season, in 7 games he has 9 goals, 2 assists, 5MoM and 9.02 average o.O

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 19, 2013

I guess it depends on what you look for in a CB, but I do admit if I’d prefer any CB to this kid those two would be in the very short list.
