Carlos Fierro’s career history until 2019

This FM 2013 player profile of Carlos Fierro is much anticipated I’m sure. The wonderkid of FM12 is back with a bang for FM13, Fierro may not have incredible technical attributes in my 2019 screenshot, but he will a few years on. The reason I chose this save is his average rating after signing for Porto and insane mental attributes. The Mexican scored 23 goals during his first season, guiding Porto to the title…£3.8 million is a real bargain for such an outstanding talent. The best poacher if you’re looking for a wonderkid, hands down!

Best buy rating: 10/10

Which one is a better poacher, Rodrigo or Fierro?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 24, 2012

I would go for Rodrigo this year.

  • comment avatar tegar October 28, 2012

wow, 13 million? Hmm, might worth a shot.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 28, 2012

He is worth a go, just a shame he isn’t cheaper.

  • comment avatar NotOneNil October 29, 2012

Can you please do a player profile of Jesé(Real Madrid)?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 29, 2012

He hasn’t improved enough in my save to warrant one.

  • comment avatar gabi October 30, 2012

was stalking your site for this profile, hahaha. too bad his price has increased a lot from last year, but cannot wait to start a new game with a team in which he can really grow. bringing the beast out of him, hahaha :D gg Darren

    • comment avatar Darren Smith October 31, 2012

He is a great player, just a shame about the price as mentioned.

  • comment avatar Rigano November 7, 2012

Just wondering Darren, i’m blasting through a classic mode game at the moment and i’ve bought Fierro at the start of the game. Will he not improve as much in classic mode because you cannot set his training etc… or do they compensate for this?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 8, 2012

I couldn’t possibly know for sure, but I don’t think it will make a huge difference as SI should make it so the CPU manages your training well.

  • comment avatar Joey Cecil December 2, 2012

I forgot to scout him earlier in the year, but snapped him up for Liverpool in January for 4.2 million.

  • comment avatar Heresy December 5, 2012

Great to see SI didn’t downgrade him this year. If anything, I think they made him even better! If he’s showing the same talent irl, I’m surprised the top clubs haven’t snapped him up yet!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 5, 2012

I’m glad he’s been rated highly too. If SI think he’s so good on such a consistent basis I’d be surprised if one of the top clubs don’t snap him up sooner or later.

  • comment avatar Wilson December 7, 2012

Will He Be Better Than Zakaria Bakkali ?

  • comment avatar Digary January 8, 2013

This kid a complete monster. I had him on 2012 and he was very good but in 2013 he is just sensational. Quite possibly the best poacher I have ever had. Aged 23-25 he returned 156 goals in all competitions and now he is entering his prime at 26, he has 41 goals on January 2nd. Well on course for a 70 goal season. He is only my third choice penalty taker too, so doesn’t get many of those.

Granted he has a good team around him and he gets great service from my deep lying forward and wingers, but the guy is just a goal machine. Would strongly recommend him if you play two up top. Bargain for £6m

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 9, 2013

Yeah I’d even recommend him with one upfront, ripped it up in my Newcastle side using 4-5-1.

  • comment avatar Oliver January 13, 2013

hi Darren which two strikers would you recommend for my tottenham team Carlos Fierro, Yassine Benzia,Adam Camphell, Ademilson or Mason Bennet I don’t who to get really. Hope you reply.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 13, 2013

It completely depends on what you want in a striker and how much game time you’ll offer, but probably Ademilson and Fierro.

      • comment avatar Oliver January 13, 2013

        Thanks Darren.

  • comment avatar Jay January 17, 2013

He signs for Arsenal on my FM2012 in about 2019 and in his first season sets the all time record for goals scored in the Premier league at around 53 goals. He is unstoppable

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 17, 2013

He seems to have been rated even higher for FM13.

  • comment avatar Dunny23 February 7, 2013

What role do people play him in. I usually play with one poacher , but I see his preferred role is deep lying forward. My arsenal team set up at 43 2 wingers 1 forward . Have people had success playing him as a DLF on his own?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 7, 2013

I personally only use him as poacher, never even needed to try him in any other role.

  • comment avatar Nikolai Haugaard February 15, 2013

So sad he want be as good as if you play him – even loan want do it.. what a shame.. He is 23 in my LFC save, and he is absolutely crap – anything I can do to make him good again?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 16, 2013

The only thing you can do is play him and let him develop, but I there’s nothing else to be done, once they reach a certain age some of the PA is lost.

      • comment avatar Nikolai Haugaard February 16, 2013

He can’t fight against Rodrigo, Borini and Abel Hernandez – so in my save he will not be as good – sad but true..

        • comment avatar Darren Smith February 16, 2013

I actually brought him in to the first team instead of Rodrigo and Hernandez with Newcastle and he was far better. But then again I did that earlier than you have so he had time to grow fully.

          • comment avatar Nikolai Haugaard February 16, 2013

Brought him in the first season, but at this movement he was not good enough to take the place from Suarez and Borini, so since i brought him i’ve tried to loan him out and if it didn’t happened then he was just playing for the reserves, which was a lack of his experience – So i decided to buy Rodrigo, and now he will never take the place :P

          • comment avatar Darren Smith February 16, 2013

Yeah with players like Fierro you have to bite the bullet at some point and trust him to do a job so he can develop, if not your situation is very common.

  • comment avatar Lewis Breslin March 7, 2013

hi lads.I spend hours on this website, reading through your player profiles! good job with those.I brought FM13 the day it came out,but due to work and other things i havent managed to complete even half a season with anybody! But now i can dedicate time back to FM.So i was just wondering if Lukaku has developed into the player he has done in previous games? also a lad from PSG called ‘Rabiot’ always gets 4 stars in scout reports, but iv never seen a future profile of his, have you seen anything of him?
    cheers boys.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 7, 2013

Lukaku wasn’t too good in the early patches but due to his great RL form SI have made him much better in the recent patch, he will definitely get a profile at some point, worth signing. As for Rabiot I can’t see him in my future save using the new patch so not sure TBH.

P.S. Glad the site has helped.

      • comment avatar Lewis Breslin March 11, 2013

yep, just seen Lukaku’ profile, one word to describe him…BEAST! really rate the player in RL,carnt believe Chelsea loaned him out when they only had 2 forwards in the summer! Glad to see Ongenda has a profile, another youngster that SI have rated in previous years,he could be world class with the right management, cheers lads!

        • comment avatar Darren Smith March 11, 2013

No problem, there’s some mighty powerful strikers! :)

    • comment avatar Johnny Karp March 8, 2013

Lukaku will have a profile here by the end of this week.

  • comment avatar Jack March 21, 2013

I bought him for $6m in 2013-2014 season for Stoke. In 2016-2017 Chelsea offered me $17.75m for him which I rejected for obvious reasons, he is only 22 still. He scored 33 goals last season, and my #1 striker obviously. A great buy.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 21, 2013

He is a real bargain indeed, only had success with this kid.

      • comment avatar Jack March 22, 2013

Yeah, I look at his stats, and think that they are horrible and that surely he can’t be quality. Though his stats are worse than he plays. He exceeds those stats which he develops. Weird and stupid how that works…

        • comment avatar Darren Smith March 22, 2013

TBH his stats are good for his age and they develop to be some of the best I’ve seen a striker get especially mentally and physically.

          • comment avatar Jack March 23, 2013

Yeah, he has so far developed slightly differently, probably partly due to his training set to AF. His average rating this season so far is around 7.73. While he is still mentally developing, he is still 22, so got a bit of time. I just find it funny how attributes are different from previous FM’s, that a player with average stats can be outstanding.

          • comment avatar Darren Smith March 23, 2013

It also comes down to personality and hidden attributes I guess.

  • comment avatar Batu March 24, 2013

He is a real monster. Sometimes I can’t believe the goals he scored. I bought him for my Fenerbahçe team. He won the golden boat with 64 goals and became the highest goal scorer of the league with 43 goals.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 24, 2013

He certainly is a monster, I enjoyed similar experiences with Newcastle.

  • comment avatar Haine March 26, 2013

Have you got any other future screens of him? I’ve struggled a little with developing him in a couple of saves I’ve had but think its due to buying him late or not biting the bullet early enough and giving him first team game time. He’s still developed into a good striker and scores fairly consistently so well worth the price tag but seems I’ve never seen his technical stats become that impressive or much evidence or the rave reviews everyone gives him!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 26, 2013

This is one of the lesser screenshots I’ve got, he’s even better in my Newcastle save. If you don’t play him he won’t develop.

  • comment avatar tom h March 26, 2013

What attributes should he be trained on first, mental, physical or technical?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 26, 2013

Just do the individual as ‘poacher’ and mix that with first touch, then do as you feel fit really.

  • comment avatar tom h March 27, 2013

At what age should Fierro be introduced into the first team. I have a Juventus save

  • comment avatar Batu March 30, 2013

Hi darren again me :) he won the golden boot in the second seasen too scored 60 goals this time :P he also won the highest goal scorer of the cl for this season. Now we are gonna play the 6th game of the season and he scored 12 goals so far, he will break his older records this time surely

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 31, 2013

Thats one hell of a record, due to the way I maintain my saves I could never get those kind of stats, I like to rotate my players so I can develop the ‘next big thing’. But since moving to Reading Fierro managed 28 goals, not bad with a less than brilliant side under AI management.

  • comment avatar jacke March 31, 2013

Without doubt he turns into the best striker in the game. averages 20-30 games a season right up to the age of 33-34. he scored 189 goals for Mexico. and he only cost about 3.5M for Spurs

    • comment avatar jacke March 31, 2013

i meant goals not games sorry

      • comment avatar Darren Smith March 31, 2013

I certainly think he’s one of the best if not the best.

  • comment avatar Alexander Tommos April 21, 2013

Have tested him a couple of times know, and in my latest save with Barcelona he is already insane, basically the same mental and physical stats as his future screen shot above, but with much better technical, all at the age of 21, and still rapidly improving, according to my scouts hes almost as good as lewandowski already.

Some insane talent in Fm13, fierro, umtiti, Varane, zouma, Pogba, Admilson, Verratti, Romario, crisetig all part off my Barca A-team,

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 21, 2013

There certainly are some amazing talents this year, Fierro been my favorite I think.

  • comment avatar saint fanatic May 12, 2013

Don’t want to to toot the saint horn but Jay Rodriguez is a beast. I’ve played 3 seasons with him and he has been golden boot winner in all but the first one. He has scored 120 goals in all competitions for me!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 12, 2013

That is certainly a record to be envied.

  • comment avatar Mark May 31, 2013

How well would he play if pushed to the right or left wide striker position? (Not AMR/L, but the spot ahead of that) Retrained of course so he is comfortable there.

Will buy him early if needed.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 31, 2013

Never tried him there so not sure, guess it would also come down to the role and tactic itself.

  • comment avatar Asep May 31, 2013

i just said what the hell with this kid, develops his technical, mental, and physical ability every month, and became like this at the age 22
    http://oi41.tinypic.com/3462wkw.jpg
is he really this good in reality?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 31, 2013

He amazing indeed, I’ve not seen him play in real life but SI have a talent for finding these youngsters and representing their ability…but only time will tell I guess.

      • comment avatar Asep May 31, 2013

personally I really admire SI scout with their ability to represent real football player skills to the game.
I have a really amazing experience with FM, about seven years ago I played FM2005 when I still at junior high school, I pick Real Madrid as my team, and managed to sign Marcelo from one of club in Brazil.
A few months later ‘the real’ Marcelo just signed to ‘the real’ Real Madrid, and that was really make me amazed back then :D
I just want to share my story, maybe one of you have experienced some weird stories like that, since this site titled ‘football manager story’ :D

        • comment avatar eiyup June 8, 2013

can u please tell me how do you develop him?? in detail..tq

          • comment avatar Darren Smith June 8, 2013

There isn’t much to say, I just gave him plenty of game time, trained him individually as poacher with high intensity, then every three months or so switched to any weak attributes I wanted strengthening like first touch. I left the squad in general on general training with high intensity. That’s it really.

      • comment avatar eiyup June 10, 2013

1 more question..about general training..i just set it to Balanced..is it good or bad for all player and what would u do??? tq

        • comment avatar Darren Smith June 10, 2013

Team cohesion during pre-season and then balanced throughout the season.

    • comment avatar dpk04 July 11, 2013

OMG! He is lot better than neymar. What role did you use for him, poacher or deep lying forward. Thnx for SS.

  • comment avatar Shane June 8, 2013

Just signed ademilson and fierro for £10.5 mill together!
Anyone have any ideas if they can play together in same team ? And how? I’m ac Milan and in first season!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 8, 2013

That’s really good business. You could use them both together, Ademilson would need to be the poacher and Fierro could be more of a deep lying forward. However, it really does come down to the tactic itself.

  • comment avatar Gabriel June 16, 2013

Ive got a £2.5M budget on my liverpool save (still first season) and I’m thinking of buying a good and cheap wonderkid… can’t decide if whether to buy:
    Benzia
    Carlos Fierro
    Ferreyra
    Ademilson
    What do you think Darren?

    • comment avatar Gabriel June 16, 2013

      (need strikers) lol :D

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 16, 2013

      Fierro for me.

  • comment avatar Cruz June 24, 2013

Rodrigo or Fierro for Poacher? And what is the best advanced playmaker of the game?

    • comment avatar Cruz June 24, 2013

I mean, advanced playmaker for MC (like Ander Herrera)

      • comment avatar Darren Smith June 24, 2013

Rodrigo for instant impact or Fierro for a future star.

I like Isco as advanced playmaker most in MC, easily trained there.

        • comment avatar Cruz June 24, 2013

Isco is better then Thiago or Hamsik in MC? And what about Gotze in that position?

          Sorry for my english

          • comment avatar Darren Smith June 25, 2013

I have personal experience with Isco in that position, if its attributes alone you can make that call yourself by looking at the profiles.

  • comment avatar Jorge July 3, 2013

I strongly recommend Fierro, for any team, it’s wonderfull watch him play even in the first season, I started a save with QPR, didn’t have enought money to make good transfers, so a make a great effort to bring Mattheus and Fierro. I’m so glad to say that i’m in the middle of the season, fighting for the 8th place, and all thanks to my solid defender Samba, and the ocasional goals from fierro and mattheus. It’s incredible how they make it happen so early on my team. fierro creat a lot of chances, loses most of them, due to his low finish, but with Zamora or remy on his side, if he doesn’t score, he make some assist, 7 golas and 6 assist by now.

  • comment avatar Goh July 7, 2013

Heh glad that he’s a 10, Carlos reminds me of an old Torres and definitely one of the best strikers i’ve seen.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 7, 2013

He’s a real beast, probably one of the greatest FM wonderkids over the last few years.

  • comment avatar Ben July 13, 2013

This guy is insane! I bought him at the start of the game with Arsenal and kind of made a half arsed attempt to work on him with training and loans without seeing too much progression, until 2015-16 where he scored 32 league goals in 34 apps on loan at Inter, winning them the title. Since then he has had 2 incredible seasons with me as my main forward; scoring 29 in 35 apps and in my most recent season (2017/18); 47 goals in 43 appearances (All Comps), this breaking the all time arsenal goals in a season record & winning BPL golden boot & Europe’s top marksman. Had Barcelona offer £40m for his services too. I’ve developed him into a DLF to operate better within my attacking unit of 4 players and has started collecting a decent amount of assists as well. Has great stamina so playing 2 games a week every week rarely becomes an issue & has avoided injury well. Still only 24 and can’t wait to see what he can do next. Has a total of 141 league goals in 249 appearances in his career so far.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 13, 2013

He really is exceptional…doesn’t matter where I go, he follows and smashes it!

      • comment avatar Ben August 2, 2013

Thought you might like to know; the following 2 seasons he has scored over 60 goals in each (Club only, all competitions). Let me know if you want images for the profile.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith August 2, 2013

Thats a great record, thanks for the update but we won’t be updating any of our profiles now.

  • comment avatar reeceder July 31, 2013

Don’t know whether I have some sort of glitch on my game, but for me Fierro is by far the best striker from the start. Signed him in January 2013 and he has scored an absurd 23 goals in 7 league games for Arsenal. Hard to believe I know. Crazy player.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 31, 2013

      That is an outrageous record.

      • comment avatar reeceder August 5, 2013

finished the season with 32 in in 13 league games. yet to score for me in 4 games this season though.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith August 5, 2013

All strikers go through stages no matter how good they are, but that previous run shows just how prolific he is.

  • comment avatar Adam November 16, 2013

Got him for 3.5 mill for blackburn (in championship in fm13) for the january transfers…. (only cos before then by the time the work permit came through, he had silly injuries…..) Looking forward to see how he performs with joshua king upfront!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 16, 2013

Great bargain and exciting times ahead of the club.
