Thiago’s career history until 2018

This FM 2012 player profile of Thiago shows how talented the Barcelona graduate really is. Best used in an attacking midfield position Thiago can also be trained to great effect in central midfield as an advanced playmaker. He starts the game with attributes good enough to play for any team and develops into a real all rounder with a brain for football, in fact the future profile above proves that Thiago can really fill the boots of Iniesta and co. Your only stumbling block is the £63 million asking price but that outrageous demand soon drops within 2-3 seasons so bide your time. I based Thiago’s best buy rating on the fact that he is available for less than the asking price shown a few seasons in, but still had to take his first season price into consideration. Either way, looking at his starting profile and future screenshots makes me consider the Spaniard as one of the best CM’s in the World.

Best buy rating: 8.5/10

does is broteher rafinha evolved well ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 22, 2011

He does seem to have talent but hasn’t developed on my save. That could be down to poor training and a lack of first team football though.

ok ty. any player of the barca young team worth something ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 23, 2011

To be honest I can’t think of any that jump out at me…then again they all need first team football which is key for any player so their growth may have been stunted.

Currently i have Christian Eriksen in my squad being a total monster with about 26 assists in a whole season. Chelsea is offering a huge amount of money for him. A day later Getafe offered Thiago for 13,5 million euro’s. Should i sell Eriksen and get Thiago?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 9, 2012

If Thiago looks as good as Eriksen or similar I’d say make the swap to cash in, but then again, if you’re attached to the Dane it may not be worthwhile.

I’m thinking of buying Thiago after selling Lodeiro. He should be available for under 15M, but my only concern would be that I already have Kovacic whom I use in my 1st team and Isco as his backup (he’s developping rather well!). I’m using your Arsenal tactic (brilliant one, it has to be said) and I do like having 2 players for every position in midfield + 1 in case of injury or suspension but wouldn’t Thiago make it too much tallent in an already very tallented team?

You can never have too much talent.

I managed to loan him with a future fee of 15.5 mill GBP on my Arsenal save. He is amazing, purely amazing, in central midfield. I brought him in when Arteta was injured and he scores for fun.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 12, 2012

Sounds like a good way to get him, but don’t understand why Barcelona would loan him out in patch 12.2 as he’s ready for 1st team action in the update.

      • comment avatar Heresy April 25, 2012

He was ready for first team action before the update IMO, and he still only got max 10 league games a sseason for the first 2 years. This is because Barca already has a world class midfield fully stacked and CPU rarely rotates players unless it has to. Thiago will not be picked before a fully fit Fabregas, Xavi and Inesta.

Got Thiago in my Man Utd save for 11 mil 2 seasons in after he complained about first team soccer. and Eriksen for about 6 mil. I guess my midfield will be sorted for a long time for only 17 mil:). To be fair, when they’re young they’re not very good and aren’t consistent at all. only recently is eriksen showing his worth (after 3 seasons) and thiago is getting there. Either one can split any defense in the world wide open in a second. Excited to see how they gel with Gotze :)

That midfield three sounds Xavi/Iniesta/Fabregas like!

  • comment avatar Chuck August 6, 2012

His huge asking price aside, Is he the best young CM ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith August 6, 2012

      Certainly one of the best.

        I have 2 questions about him !

        1. Thiago or Kovacic for DLP ?

2 Thiago or Eriksen for AP (S)

        • comment avatar Darren Smith August 8, 2012

Both would seem a little wasted in DLP but Kovacic out of the two…Thiago in AP

Towards the end of my 2nd season with Napoli Thiago was valued around 11mil i had 7.75mil of transfer funds left, approached the board and stating signing him would show we mean business, left it to the board, he’s just signed in the summer for 5.5million delighted
