Thiago Ilori’s career history until 2018

This FM 2012 player profile of Thiago Ilori shows remarkable growth. The young defender looks fairly limited in 2011 and certainly not capable of what he became aged 25 in my save. But this kids development can be incredible and the screenshots shown are with CPU management, so image what he could be with the right approach and game time. At just £400K Ilori has to be one of the best bargain buys in defense.

Best buy rating: 8.5/10

8.5??? are you kidding me? this guy doesn’t deserve a 4. He has way too many 16s. I demand 17s across the board to be even worthy of 5/10

In all seriousness though, this is a great find. I’ve never heard of him but for 400k you can’t go wrong

lol, I think that comment from before is going to become a running joke around here :) Ilori is good, I was tossing between the rating but decided such improvement deserved a higher rating.

      • comment avatar Benjy July 10, 2012

Definitely, “doing a Chul” or “Chulling” are my shouts anyway. Just bought this guy for Norwich and I can’t wait to watch him develop

  • comment avatar step July 9, 2012

benji can i ask one thing ? do you play only with regens ? beacause just with regens that you might something better. this kid is just amazing and is development is out of rates look at is primary stats and then look to it when 25 no one could guess that is such diamond. i know that the kid whas good but not this much even trained by cpu :0…

Darren could you see Bruma also from scp ? normaly he leaves to club.

Thanks for the backup Step but don’t worry, Benjy is just joking, he’s taking the piss out of a comment that was made by someone else a few days ago :)

As for Bruma, he does look very talented but like Raheem Sterling he probably doesn’t make a ridiculous level until he is around 26 yo and I don’t have a good screenshot of him from around that time. So while he hasn’t developed enough on my saves, I do think he might have the potential if managed well.

      Hey step,
just to back up what Darren said, I was only making a joke about another comment from a couple days ago. No offence meant or taken :)

  • comment avatar Ryan Daly July 9, 2012

good player, similar to that of Roderick Miranda in that both are relatively unknown and at first glance you would probably ignore them and continue searching, also their improvement is unmatched, nice work

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 9, 2012

Thanks Ryan, I think seeing the future profile on its own makes you go ‘ah he’s pretty good’, but when you see what he starts as its just mind blowing…very similar to Miranda but perhaps on a slightly larger scale.

  • comment avatar Alexander Ceol July 10, 2012

For the most part you can see on a profile if a talent has……talent :P

But some players , like this fellow, has hidden talent , and I think this is why i frequent this site, to find these gems.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 10, 2012

Yeah we like to unearth them where possible and I that is the main reason we offer the future profiles…because sometimes you need to see the talent to believe it :)

      • comment avatar Alexander Ceol July 10, 2012

indeed, and this is just with cpu management, will be fun to see what I can get out of him, I have great trainers and not afraid of giving talents some first team experience.

  • comment avatar step July 11, 2012

In my save i have two players in my benfica team that make wounders. solid, palying and devoloping very well. They are Luis martins . dl and raphael guzzo mc both from benfica school.
they need a lot of games bus they are developing quiet well especally guzzo

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 11, 2012

Neither player is visible in my future save I’m afraid and I checked from the start of the game and they are not there either, indicating you either need the Portuguese league loaded or they are regens.

  • comment avatar Yoga July 12, 2012

I’m sorry darren, i can’t find this player in my saves. is it because i didn’t set portugal league as playable?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 12, 2012

No it will be because you have small database loaded I think.

      • comment avatar Yoga July 12, 2012

I think i use medium database loaded, but i’ll check it. Thank you anyway. :)

        • comment avatar Darren Smith July 12, 2012

To be honest I use large database so unless its that then the database is definitely the problem.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 12, 2012

We don’t profile players that are only visible with Portuguese league loaded.

  • comment avatar Ross July 12, 2012

his future abilities are very good, you’d never think that seeing him at the start of the game. He turns out similar to Leonel Galeano, any chance you are going to do a profile on him? he plays for Independiente

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 12, 2012

To be honest Galeano hasn’t developed enough in my saves and without the future profile we can’t report on him…he should do better with human management but all my screenshots are with CPU management.

  • comment avatar Shirish K July 14, 2012

I have this guy in my arsenal save, and he sure is a good cb for a very cheap price. the stats are a bit different since i started my save like when the first db came out and did create a new on with the 12.2.2 db.

i hope he get some improved stats and PA for fm13 ;)

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 14, 2012

Yeh he does require patience but an excellent player if developed right.

  • comment avatar tegar July 17, 2012

Does it this guy has two nationality? (England and Portugal)

  • comment avatar Sofie July 19, 2012

Wow! two nationalities! What abut his family? Whats his father name?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 20, 2012

I don’t know, you can google it though.

  • comment avatar Thomas Pimenta July 20, 2012

His pace stat is seriously wrong. He’s the fastest ever 60m meter sprinter in Sporting’s academy history outpacing Ronaldo, Nani, Djalo, Varela and whoever. His acceleration should be 17!. Also have you taken a look at Eric Dier? He generally turns out well but he might only be an option with either the english or portuguese leagues loaded, he used to go to my school.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 20, 2012

I don’t know enough about the player in real life to comment on that, I guess SI can’t get everything right. As for Dier he is an interesting player and could do well with human management but I can’t profile him due to poor future screenshots I’m afraid.

  • comment avatar Tribs November 6, 2012

    How come he lost weight?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 6, 2012

Because he was on a diet, I joke of course. :) Chances are the two screenshots are from different patches from before and after the update.
