Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ career history until 2016

This FM 2012 player profile of Sokratis Papastathopoulos shows a real physical defender with great consistency. While the Greek centre back may not head the ball too well he has very few weakness’ on the whole. Add to this some great pace, general defensive attributes and hunger to work the pitch and you have one beast of a CB. Sokratis starts the game out on loan and therefore isn’t available during the first year but is still worth considering beyond then.

yeah i bought him for my newcastle side he chips in with a remarkable amount of goals from corners actually even though his heading attribute isnt up there love this website by the way
have you heard of someone called viktor fischor from wolves ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 2, 2012

Thanks mate, I have never heard of Fischor, sounds like a made up player on your game (regen is the official terminology.)

      • comment avatar somim March 2, 2012

no lol i know what a regen is sorry he doesent start at wolves he moves there in mine he starts at Ajax in the game i can email you a screen shot if you want

I still can’t see him which means you need either the dutch league loaded or a large database, players that require one of those two don’t get profiled I’m afraid as theres a risk of too many people not been able to see them.

          • comment avatar Poe August 8, 2012

he might mean Fisher, the striker/AMC of Ajax

          • comment avatar Darren Smith August 8, 2012

That guy isn’t in any of my future saves either which usually suggests he’s not that great…I always ask for full details first as I waste a lot of time doing others research just to piece together there own question which is incredibly frustrating.

    • comment avatar CharlieFineman March 13, 2012

Speaking of goals, I remember having Mamadou Sakho as my top scorer with 23(!) goals in my Olympique Lyonnais FM11 save. Fire!

      • comment avatar Darren Smith March 13, 2012

Now that is how you score goals, I’d be happy to see a forward score that. :)

        • comment avatar CharlieFineman March 14, 2012

Darren, sorry to bother you if you covered him elsewhere, but is there a chance to see a future profile of Sergio Araujo of Boca? Had him in the same save as Sakho(also in FM11), and he was absolutely immense. Just wanted to see if he developed differently, and bring him to everyone’s attention.

A great thing about that team was that I packed it full of youngsters, and offloaded all the seniors, and they developed solely due to amount of games and individual training schedules. Thanks!

          • comment avatar Darren Smith March 14, 2012

Unfortunately he is no where near the same standard in FM12 and I can’t even find him in most saves which suggests he doesn’t really develop, but he was great in FM11.

Agree with somim, besides that he controls all the air game in my team, great in marking a superb play! i sugest to play him with Kara or Kyriakos Papadopoulos and you will have a very solid defense, for me one of the best CB in this game! i bought him on second season from Genoa for 12.5M and on the end of the same season i got offer from chelsea of 26M :D

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 2, 2012

Good to hear he is available for reasonable amount in second season, there may be good younger options but he’s a guaranteed performer.

  • comment avatar rui pereira March 2, 2012

a good cb is otamendi the kid is a rock in the defense and scores a lot of goals

    • comment avatar Vitor Ferreira March 2, 2012

Yes otamenti is good also but i seriously prefer this one and papadopoulos both are impressive.

      • comment avatar Darren Smith March 2, 2012

Yeah Otamendi is a great player, he may get a profile later on depending on the asking price.

        • comment avatar Vitor Ferreira March 3, 2012

i see in every gamesave i make he leaves for around 12-16M

          • comment avatar Jarvis March 7, 2012

Otamendi is a superb buy. I picked him up for 12m season 3 for Real Madrid. Him and Varane (you should do a profile even though I have never seen him leave Real!) are a monster centre back pairing him.

Ended up selling Otamendi when he was 31 to Milan for 30m to blood a couple of immense teenage regens I picked up for peanuts… :)

          • comment avatar Darren Smith March 7, 2012

Yeah Otamendi is a very good player and will get a profile eventually but just need a better future profile than the one I currently have.

    • comment avatar alex March 20, 2012

if cb have to score for you to be a good centre back then you have a problem

  • comment avatar Ewan Wood March 3, 2012

I’m surpised that Alan Dzagoev from CSKA Moscow hasn’t got a profile. He develops into a top quality player with good all around stats and I think he is on most saves so do you reckon you could check him out Darren?

  • comment avatar rui pereira March 3, 2012

you can buy otamendi on the first season for 7/13 million depending on the negociations

  • comment avatar N.Loureiro March 3, 2012

and Players on loan are cheaper :D

  • comment avatar Bayern München March 3, 2012

    Hey Darren!

Came across youre page about a month ago, and I have to say, it is truly amazing. Keep up the good work, im really impressed!

I have a small question. One of the pros with signing a young player is that he can become a “product of the club”. At which age do I have to sign a player if I want it to become a “own product” ?

    =D

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 3, 2012

Thanks mate, as for your question it depends on what you mean by a product of the club. If you mean someone seen as home grown by the fans then he needs to be 16 or younger…if you mean home grown legally then he needs to join 18 years old or younger and of you mean in a general sense then its down to the individual gamer, I personally see a player as the product of the club if he joined aged 18 or younger.

  • comment avatar Bayern Munchen March 4, 2012

Okay, my question was aimed at when a player legally becomes a product of the club. I think a lot of people haven’t understood that the player can be as old as 18 when he joins, and after three years he will be seen as a legal product of the club.

Thanks for the answer mate, can be pretty useful to know and bare in mind while signing amazing wonderkids ;). I agree with you concerning a players age and when he becomes a product of the club. 18 is the shit!

Goodnight man, and keep up the good work.

    :D

So..when is the new patch coming out…I feel like not installing the game because I want to play with updated rosters.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 5, 2012

      I don’t know, shouldn’t be long though.

  • comment avatar P. Rubio March 5, 2012

Hello Darren cheers on the site I’ve found it really helpful. I had a question on a player his name is Jordi Amat from Espanyol and I wanted to know if he turns out good or not?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 5, 2012

He hasn’t developed well in any of my saves, so I don’t think he is too good unfortunately.

  • comment avatar N.Loureiro March 5, 2012

Amat…Espanyoly wanted me to pay over 30 million for him…then again I was managing Barça…promoted Marc Muniesa instead…

  • comment avatar P. Rubio March 5, 2012

Looking at Amat’s starting stats do you think he would turn out good if I trained him myself? Also how does Salvatore Bocchetti turn out in your saves?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith March 6, 2012

I don’t think so mate, I don’t rate him as mentioned. Bocchetti turns into a solid defender though.

  • comment avatar P. Rubio March 6, 2012

    Ok thanks for the help
