This FM 2012 player profile of Sidney Sam shows a very specific player that can cover numerous positions. Sam may not have the most rounded attributes but what he does, he does very well. Great dribbling, first touch, finishing, quickness and rare flair make this kid very explosive. Used best from AMR, Sidney good also be used from the opposite wing or even upfront. For just £6.5 million you can have a winger that creates magic and could give your side that extra spark.

Best buy rating: 8/10

Haha, such a great poacher if he would have had more “off the ball” skills. Otherwise it would be a goal machine.

I can recommend him 100%. If you like his play IRL, you will love him in this game. A great winger, as a inside forward he is a killer, reminds me a lil bit in my 2,5-yrs-savegame of ribery or robben.

Yeah he should certainly be a beast as inside forward and I can see similarities between Robben and him. I think the main thing Sam must improve is his mental attributes that will come with time and game experience.

He is not good enough for a profile I’m afraid.

Pretty good player but not getting a profile until I find a good enough future profile for his development.

could you look at patrick herrmann, wilfred zaha and matt philips as i am looking to use sam and sterling with the above to create a front three of one poacher and two inside forwards

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 4, 2012

I don’t rate any of them, none have developed in any of my saves…not to say they won’t but it does suggest they’ll take a lot of work if they have it in them at all.

To Patrick Herrmann: You have to train him very well. If he stays in Gladbach 2-3 Seasons, he doesnt get very good; In one of my ssaves, i bought him, trained him a lil bit and he is very good. Not a Ribery/Robben-double, but a really good winger/inside forward.

I’m thinking of allowing Walcott to leave and bringing in this guy, what do you lot think?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith July 10, 2012

I’d say that would be a good move TBH, Walcott is good but his technical skills will never get great so if thats what you look for Sam is a much better option.
