This FM 2012 player profile of Seydou Doumbia shows one of the most deadly strikers FM12 has to offer. Doumbia has it all, pace, acceleration, dribbling, finishing, strength, heading and composure. You could adapt the 23 year old to play almost any role and he is guaranteed to score goals from the off. £17.5 million is a lot of money for some players, but not for Doumbia because he is one of the most well rounded strikers in FM 2012.

Best buy rating: 9/10

One of my favourite players at the moment, both in real life and in FM. Spoiling his talent in Russia to be honest.

You’ve chosen a picture of Vagner Love though mate!

Yeah I am a fan of Doumbia too, thanks for the heads up by the way…guess thats what I get for rushing, all sorted now though.

hi darren is luuk de jong a good striker ? and i have a question does j.ayew still have the quality that he had in the previous patch ?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 11, 2012

While De Jong has never improved enough in my saves, I have heard good reports on him so it is down to personal choice really. As for Ayew, from what I’ve seen he has just as much quality in the latest patch.

  • comment avatar tommy May 11, 2012

i ask this because in the “original” fm im getting a litlle difficulty managing a team, since i jhave been playing for to lonng in the old patch, even the conversation with players became difficult ( a little like avb with the chelsea players in the real life XD
) And ayew doesnt score much as the last patch in the begining of the season i dont know if it related with lack of compusere and concentration or anything else , but probably it will evolve and score more.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 11, 2012

Completely depends on your tactic and how you use him. I know some people that see him score a lot whereas others use him in a more general sense.

  • comment avatar tommy May 11, 2012

for the moment im trying to use the tatic

st – ayew as proacher but in pre season he scores but in championship he doesn´t

  • comment avatar tommy May 11, 2012

but i will see. and give a look in this player very young nice mental attributs and tatical dennis praet belgian

  • comment avatar tommy May 11, 2012

just one more thing check on dennis praet

  • comment avatar tommy May 11, 2012

    sorry for doble post

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 12, 2012

We will see if that player is worth profiling but from what I’ve seen he probably isn’t unfortunately.

  • comment avatar john May 12, 2012

Hi darren.can you make a profile for jack wilshere, please?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 12, 2012

I think he’s virtually unbuyable and we try to avoid players like that. Besides most people know his development.

      • comment avatar Heresy May 15, 2012

In my Malaga save Wilshire showed interest in joining me after 3 seasons but the price started at 30M euro. He may well be unbuyable for any EPL club but I’m pretty confident he could be tempted to go abroad. The same thing doesn’t go for Ramsey unfortunately.

Can’t help but spot this and share the most unbelievable thing, after a few seasons at Arsenal in a Liverpool save of mine, Wilshere had consistent long term injuries and ended up on a free! He trialed at Blackburn before I snapped him up and whilst I was surprised to see that they let him go so easily, his stats were still some of the best that I’d seen for any playmaker on the game! What was even better was that for 4-5 seasons he has been relatively injury free and has only experienced 2-3 little niggles! Great player to sign if you get him by chance, not sure how frequently that happens though.

        • comment avatar Darren Smith July 7, 2012

That is very rare indeed, I have never seen Wilshere leave Arsenal TBH. But every now and then a top, top player becomes available for a crazy price and I love it when that happens. :)

    Excellent poacher

  • comment avatar john May 12, 2012

What about ezequiel schelotto and ryo miyaichi?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 12, 2012

They were ruled out previously because of poor future profiles but Karl is taking on more top flight profiles now so
I’m sure he’ll profile them if he sees fit.

    goal-machine, enough said.

  • comment avatar Péricles Linhares May 13, 2012

congratulaions for the post I´M A doumbia fanatic! he s a goal machine!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 14, 2012

He certainly is a prolific scorer.

  • comment avatar Heresy May 16, 2012

In my comeback to french football, I signed him for PSG and he was largely disappointing. I don’t suppose the word ‘consistency’ was known to this lad in my game and I quit it just after 1 season. Sure, there were games where he was simply deadly in front of the goal, then those games were followed by a 5.6 score at the end of the match. It’s either my tactic or the french football quality, but hadn’t i known better, I’d look elswhere for prolific goalscorers.

There’s one thing that really bothers me about Doumbia though – his aggression. I can’t remember exactly how many cards he got during that season but he was in the top 3 most booked in my team. This means he got suspended a lot which resulted in me having to play my backup in some important matches (when I had a rough patch of games ahead of me, it was sometimes impossible to tactically suspend him before the big matches came).

I don’t really like his anticipation either and using him as a poacher was probably a mistake.

  • comment avatar Dave May 18, 2012

He is class! golden boot three years in a row for me!

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 19, 2012

Just like Damiao he can be lethal if used correctly, always great to have a striker that scores from the off.

  • comment avatar Dan May 21, 2012

hi darren great site btw, what do you know about hervin ongenda, i just bought him in my milan save and wondered if he turns out to be a worthy signing, thanks in advance

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 21, 2012

From my future saves Ongenda doesn’t develop well under the CPU mainly due to lack of first team football, but I have a heard a few people say he’s good. I’d stick with him and see if he develops much in the first two seasons, that will be the best indication as the CPU tends to mess up the development of very young players sometimes.

  • comment avatar Dan May 21, 2012

ok cheers for reponse i will see how he goes

  • comment avatar Jack May 31, 2012

Had doumbia for my Spurs and bayern squad, he was unreal. As for Damiao being mentioned, he was horrible for my spurs teams. Bought him for 15 mil, sold him for 15 the season after to Madrid.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 31, 2012

Yeah there are mixed reports for both strikers, it all depends on your style and what ticks best with your tactics.

  • comment avatar Dan June 2, 2012

darren with regards ongenda check this link out

don’t know if you can use this guys pics without him sending them to you but htought id show you anyway.

hes just started banging them in for me as well and hes only 20 so be interesting if can keep it up same as in this guys save

    • comment avatar Darren Smith June 2, 2012

That is from someones own report on the player within another site, me using his screenhsot would be like someone using my profiles to promote on their own site so I can’t use it I’m afraid.
