This FM 2012 player profile of Ruben Yttergard Jenssen shows just how cheap top quality can be. The 23 year old is available for a tiny fee of £1 million and just look at how he develops. This guy is a genius on the pitch, add good passing, dribbling, technique and you have yourself an assist machine. Thanks to Daniel for the screenshot.

Dono what Liverpool did to him but he doesn’t have many assists… funny how most of the players you scout end up at liverpool

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 7, 2011

Agreed, this guy should be getting more assists as his attributes are great. Maybe they used him in a role not suited to him? Liverpool always sign the best talent in my save. :)

I have this guy on my Newcastle save, i am 3 years in and he is out performing Cabaye every game. An absolute steal at £1m i recommend him to any one.

He’s great mate, I’ll start a new game at some point in the future and most likely with the toon so I’ll be sure to sign him :)

  • comment avatar Jarvis November 18, 2011

Picked RYJ up in my Newcastle save 1st season (although paid nearer to 3m). Solid 1st season and has pushed on in the second. Playing him as a box-to-box MC. Only problem now is than Man City are sniffing about!

Anyone sold him? If so what sort of £ should I be looking at as a minimum?

    • comment avatar Darren Smith November 18, 2011

I always look to double the players value at least. If he’s worth less than £5 million you want to get at least £10 mill, but if he’s worth nearer £7 million you should be looking for more than £12 million.

any advice on how to fully use this guy??I use him as DLP and he’s only average (mostly 6.8 ratings).not much assists either.should I give more first team play to Jali and Bertolacci (not as DLP ofc) or stick with this guy?also, can you check on markus henriksen??I’ve the same problem – great attributes but poor display

I always look at players like this one as work horses….the ones that don’t get much recognition (high ratings) but make a big difference because they do the simple things perfectly. Not every player can be amazing in a match day XI, I think this guy is best used as a central midfielder with support duty but don’t underestimate his contribution, its probably because he’s not scoring or assisting but it doesn’t mean he’s not making a difference. As for Henriksen, I’m afraid I can’t find him in my future save, sorry.

I wanted to retrain this guy to be a box-to-box midfielder. He certainly has the stamina for it. But as a CM he’s also very reliable. Sold him for 7M euro + future incentives after 1 year and got Poli. How about that :D

      • comment avatar Darren Smith March 16, 2012

Yeah that’s what the game is about for me, buying cheap and then selling for profit to upgrade the quality.

I’m looking for a good and cheap AMC. Can he fill that role?

Darren, I need your help. I have a transfer budget of +-5 million euros. I want to buy a good AMR and a decent DL. But I really want Kara, Vrsjalko, Vass and Jenssen. They should cost around 4 million euros (according to your guides). So I only have 1 million left. I could sell some players, but that won’t yield more than 3 million. So I have a maximum of 4 million. Do you have any recommandations?

      • comment avatar Tijmen Stronks March 30, 2012

Thanks, but I need someone with direct impact. I’m playing FC Twente and I have a decent GK, two great strong CB, a good RB, a rubbish LB, a decent CM and DMC. I’m going to buy Jenssen so I have a great AMC. But the AMR doesn’t bring much creativity, so I need a fast and technical player on the AMR. Someone like Willian. But than cheaper :)

I am afraid you may be looking for the impossible there, but the only players I can think of are Teixeira (4.2m), or Jordan Ayew who trains well on the right (4.9m)…If you are more than a season in then there’s no point in asking these questions though as everything will have changed.

            Thanks, I’ll scout them :)

I would also recommend Muhammed Demirci. That’s for the future through, he will need to gain a lot of speed before he’s ready. 1-1,5 seasons will be enough though.

my goodness this guy is the best signing ive ever made! he’s displaced lucas out of my team and he runs the whole show! pinpoint killer balls and hes only scored twice but both have been 25yards+ first or second on the teamsheet, fantasctic

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 14, 2012

He is a fantastic signing for sure and at £1 million a great bargain.

  • comment avatar Dimas April 27, 2012

Hi darren, can you check martin marvin development? thanks

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 27, 2012

Marvin is a very good player who develops very nicely…if he’s available for less than £10 million than I’d go for it. Just haven’t had time to profile him yet.

  • comment avatar des May 14, 2012

paid 15 mil for the guy at 25 for my Man Utd team. I needed a reliable deep-lying playmaker and so far I have no regrets over the price tag. there just aren’t many excellent DLP’s out there who are realistic signings.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 14, 2012

He would certainly be worth that after developing.
