Ross Barkley’s profile aged 24 in the year 2018

Ross Barkley’s career history until 2018

While Barkley never develops mind blowing technical skills he has an excellent brain for the game and his mental attributes represent that. His physical attributes can develop beyond concern and his all round stats turn into that of a midfield maestro. £18 million is probably too much and the reason why few English players get featured on this site as he’s over priced in my opinion. This kid has potential but always seems to fall a little short of what I class as world class.

I’m thinking of buying this guy to play my ball winning midfielder role like in your guide with Malaga but not Javi Martinez because he could never go a match without getting a yellow ,appreciate the help :)

What role do you play him in im looking for a BWM will he fit the bill

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 23, 2011

I don’t personally manage Barkley but when using him with England he wasn’t suited to ball winning midfielder. He was more of a deep lying playmaker or supporting CM.

  • comment avatar Chris Spaull December 23, 2011

And who else would be a good BWM Thanks for the help and carry on the good work

    • comment avatar Darren Smith December 23, 2011

There are very few BWM’s out there but Sandro of Tottenham is a good if you can afford him.

  • comment avatar Stu February 6, 2012

He isn’t a BWM. He starts off with the stats to do it, but he becomes a much better Deep-Lying Playmaker, in either Support or Attack role.

Sandro will cost around £16m, that is what I paid, but he is well worth it. Another is Radja Nainggolan of Cagliari.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith February 6, 2012

Yeah I have noticed that in my Malaga save, he certainly doesn’t suit BWM after 5 or so seasons. I think we’ve already profiled Nainggolan but he may be on the ultimate list…as for Sandro he is a brilliant player and one I’m waiting to get a great future profile for.

thx anyway for your fast respond, since he perform well in my game with my everton,i start to be a fan to this guy,and i think he will be the best mildfielder in this game or in real life,in my game i never use him as bwm but i always use him as cm duty automatic with playmaker duty in team instruction, now he became my important player in centre and brought my squad 1st in bpl until now in 22 matches and first position in knockout champions league,in a hell with opponent like, porto, and ac milan

Have you noticed they turned Barkley into a trequartista in the 12.2 update? What are your thoughts on that? I think it’s rather strange tbh. :-)

    • comment avatar Darren Smith April 14, 2012

Yeah I noticed they have adjusted this guy a lot. To be honest I haven’t seem him play much so not sure what to make of it, but SI know best IMO.

Who would you choose, Rodwell or Barkley? Everton just got relegated so they’re very cheap but I’ve only got room for one of them.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith May 3, 2012

      Definitely Rodwell.

      • comment avatar Elias May 4, 2012

        Rodwell it is then, thanks!
