This FM 2012 player profile of Rafael Toloi shows the Brazilian doesn’t have much room to grow compared to others on the market. While Toloi already has decent attributes he doesn’t improve enough for me, at least not enough to warrant the £9.25 million asking price when the likes of Kara are available for £1 million. A good player that can perform very well and often moves to the top clubs (proving his quality) but my only issue is the price compared to others. If you can get this guy for around the £6 million mark then he’s a snap especially seen as the future profile above doesn’t represent his full potential.

Best buy rating: 8/10

I picked him up for just over 2million @ the start of my Newcastle Save. Personally, think he is a bargain at that price as he is performing well alongside Coloccini.

I agree mate, if he’s available for that sort of money I’d rate him as an 8/10 but I am a firm believer in rating someone on their value as well as quality and more than £9 million (which is the only bid Goias accepted when I tried at the start of the game) is just far too much when you consider the other talent out there. Still a good player though.

I feel the same. I signed him from what would be around 3 £ in my Inter save. He seems to grow pretty well and what is most important to me, is that he hold an eu-passport unlike Kara. He had 3 season at Goias on you profile Darren, in those important years of his development, maybe they dont have excellent training grounds, could that explain some?

I agree with you, his progress has obviously been stunted but I think that in some cases this can happen when you holiday through a save or the player is with a club that doesn’t posses great training facilities.

Martin and Darren, you both are right about his progress, goias don’t have a good training staff or instalations, that makes hard toloi’s development, here in brazil, for you understand better, goias is just like, sunderland in england or torino in italy. If you have a good staff and great training facilities you can make him much better, for sure.

this guy is beast have you ever signed kurt zouma he is a pretty good defender and with the right training has the potential to be as good as john terry

He looks very good in 12.2 but I can’t find him in any of my future saves from previous patches to check his development.

Rafael was on of my best buys on fm2011 for about £5.6 mill but here it seems that he’s slowed down a bit

He has slowed down somewhat but he’s still a class buy, after making this profile I saw another save in which he’d developed into a Barcelona great.

Rafael Toloi is one of my favourite buys of all time of FM. He’s quite versatile (CB/RB/DM)which means that even if he isnt a starter hes a great backup option. I got him in the first season for Man Utd and he ended up staying with me until he retired. Legend!

He is a great player, he can develop into an excellent well rounded CB but as mentioned provides good cover too.
