Martin Montoya’s career history until 2018

This FM 2012 player profile of Martin Montoya shows some real potential for a player that isn’t too well known. The 20 year old can develop with excellent physical attributes and a good understanding of the game. I drone on about the modern day full back, but I feel this is very important and Montoya fits the description well. While he can tackle, mark and do the usual defensive duties the bonus comes in Montoya’s passing and crossing which make the difference going forward. The Spaniard doesn’t seem to develop amazing attributes but I think he can be a solid full back and £6.5 million isn’t a bad asking price considering this figure drops with time.

Best buy rating: 7.5/10

Good fullback indeed. U forgot to mention, that he’s contract is running out and it’s pretty easier to get him from free;)

The reason I didn’t mention it is because he won’t be available for free in everyone’s game, if Barca offer a contract in game then it would be poor advice to tell gamers to wait.

from what i read, this player have one of the highest PA for right backs in the game. I just never tried him out my self though.

He is certainly a good player and can develop beyond the future profile shown above.

    Tottenham*

I can’t ever see Clyne been as good potentially as Montoya no.

As for the club to manage you should pick a team that means somethings too you and it depends on what you want from the save, I can’t tell you who you will enjoy managing.

i love the english fotteball and one of the things i really enjoyed in this 2/3 seasons with arsenal was the difficult on wining the premier league eaven with a good team. but now since i won everithing in the league and internationl club cups i need another challenge because a i choosed a team that ai really like to begin with but now i just want do go and develop kids and try to have a good team and since liverpool in the real life is in middle table like everton and scp is in forth is really difficult to choose

Would you mind doing a profile on Lucas Digne? I heard that kid is class.

    • comment avatar Darren Smith January 29, 2012

I am aware of this guys talent but yet to find a future profile to do him justice, so as soon as I find that I will report on Digne.

Can someone please scout Ivan Bandalovski from CSKA Sofia. He costs 20k and will sign for almost any team. Arguably the most well-rounded right back in the game. He is no slouch going forward but you will not see him score any fantastic goals or pick up numerous assits. Perhaps his main asset is good defensive attributes and high knowledge of the game. Walks in as rotation player into any of the top 4 EPL squads and may take over the starting job simply based on consistency and reliability.

Additionally – Francesco Renzetti – 1.7MM – develops into a quality left back for any mid table EPL side or a rotation for a top 4. Can slot in at left midfield when necessary.

I haven’t been able to find Bandalovski to profile I’m afraid but I do just use the medium database so that could be why. I have checked Renzetti and I couldn’t profile him because his future attributes in all my saves are very poor unfortunately.

      • comment avatar Commie February 29, 2012

Bandalovski may be available only on large database games. As for Renzetti – he does start out relatively low but will develop into a very solid player. I will try to post some profiles.

I got Montoya on a free and sold him for 16M after just 1 season :D He was an amazing backup with bags of potential to develop. And I would have kept him but an opportunity arose to get Corchia (who by the way is the best right back in the game in my opinion). The Spaniard doesn’t make many mistakes and develops very nicely. The thing I absolutely loved about him is that he never (!) got a red card, he in fact rarely got a yellow card in a match. Very reliable for the age of 20-21.

Got him on a free as well, as Stoke, looking forward to seeing him in action

Bargain buy right there, should suit Stoke well.
